Have you cleaned the holes in the ring? After a while they get carbon clogs or dirty. I have cleaned mine with a toothpick with success. Generally, cleaning all the parts involved will take care of the problem.

Hope this helps,

Handie Andie

Meile vacuum cleaner warning light is on and the vacuum won't work.

I don't know if this will help, but I'll try.
It sounds like your machine is clogged with dirt.
You may need to take the whole thing apart and clean it out.
You may find a clog way up inside the machine preventing it's working.
God bless your efforts.

Starts but turns off immediately. red symbol lights up

check your bag for fullness, if full, change it.
if not, try adjusting your grit control on the top of the canister to the largest setting.
if your vac still shuts off, you need to replace the control valve assembly.

Meile s2111 vacuum not turning on

Loss of sucktion tells me that you clogged up the hose or over filled the bag. There is a very good chance it will run again in about 20 mi after it cools. It will also turn off after about 5 min if you do not fix the obstruction or replace the bag.

Waterleaks from tank

There are o-rings on the fittings of the tank where it connects to the chassis. These o-rings over time get hard and do not seal properly.

You can try using a light coat of petrolium jelly on the fittings and the o-rings in an attempt to stop the leak.

Carefully remove the o-ring intact and then with part in hand, go down to your local auto parts store and find replacement o-rings. I use a scribe with a mini 90 degree tip to remove o-rings.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Meile s251i won't turn on

Hi If the power head isn't working it may be clogged. Try taking it apart to see if threads and general dirt has got in at the sides. Also without the power head if the Miele still isn't working then its a possibility that the on switch wiring is either loose or check the plug at the end of the power cord.

Meile S548. It work turn on expect when I fiddle with retractable cord. Even then, it's prone to stop again. The machine is relatively new and shows no cord wear.

you have a bad cord reel. the cord may look fine but its the contacts inside that have gone bad. i have had some luck with simply adjusting the contacts but probably need to replace the cord reel.

RC3000 cannot return to the base smoothly

Mine was doing the same thing.  Turned out to be dust that had gathered inside preventing the electric eyes (ir sensors) from work well.  Carefully using some lock ring pliers turn the three grey fasteners 90 degrees counter clockwise.  Then lift off the yellow top cover.  Using an air hose or soft brush clean the sensors sticking up from the circuit board.  Be careful not to bend the out ones has they are not hard mounted.  Then also clean the inside of the IR windows on the yellow top cover.  While your at it take the time to blow out all the dust from the unit.  You should remove the inner screen prior to using compressed air so you can blow out the vac fan itself.  About every six months I do this or when it starts to act weird.  You should blow of all sensors on the base unit also.
