How can I get my Compac Cq58 back to factory settings

the main board should have a jumper that is labeled CLR CMOS you need to switch the jumper the pins 1 & 2 over to pin's 3 & 4 make sure you understand that this is for the mainboard factory reset if you're looking to reset the computer's operating system and programs to factory settings that is a different procedure.for that I believe you need to hold down the f12 button well you're turning the device on hold the button down until you get a menu the menu will guide you through the procedure

Hi i have dh55hc motherboard. the sound volume is having problems that is lower than normal. what to be done.

Hello seyedmiragha

this may not exactly be the solution to your problem but worth a try.

Intel main board sound drivers install a control panel for the sound which in some cases override the windows volume control. It does install a little icon on the task bar, if it does not then it can be found in the control panel. it gives you full control over the sound settings.

Good luck

When i cut my computer on nothing happens no beeps no loading or video. the only thing that seems to work is the fans. i havent done anything to it at all just cut it off for awhile then went back to it...

Check to make sure your Power supply hasn't taken a partial death.
You can take it to your local best buy - Computer store. Test it first!
A partial failure from your power supply will only power some of your system. (fans)
If the power supply tests pass. Then you might be looking at a board ISSUE!
Check all the Capacitors on the board and see if any of them HAVE popped.
PICTURE of a Blown cap!

These would be the first items to check on - the most common.

Good luck and Hopefully it's just the power supply. New Egg.com

Continous beep every 6 seconds

There is either a problem with your memory or your BIOS settings. Did you recently change any settings in your BIOS? If so try resetting it. You may refer to the motherboard user Guide for help regarding resetting your BIOS/CMOS settings. If you cant find it you may also try to remove the CMOS battery on your motherboard for a few hours and then connect it back this should have reset your BIOS.

If you are sure you havent changed any settings then there may be a problem with your RAM or the slot in which the RAM is connected. Check it by using a spare slot on your comp. If it does nt work then you may have to replace your system RAM.
