    1. when we hit reset it comes up not applicable! - either with input in or without
    2. can't see where the red panel is?
how do we get to it?
and does that mean we need a new part if it is out?

  • graeme305 Mar 27, 2011

have turned on projector pressed MENU and then pressed reset
it again comes up with "not applicable!"

  • graeme305 Mar 27, 2011

we have taken lamp out and reset as instructed
we have done picture reset with no result
we have manually adjusted values as shown - there was no sharpness option
there is no change to status of colour still showing no red colour
sorry for delayed reply - we have been having a dinner party in between!

Welcome to FixYa!

1. Try to reset the projector to its default factory settings.
Press the reset button on the projector's remote control while the projector is on.
We have just installed a - jas247_25.jpg
2. If the problem is not resolved by resetting the projector, the "red lcd panel" might have gone out.
The image is made up of red, green and blue colors layered upon the screen. If the red panel has gone out then there is nothing filtering out the red light in the image.

You have to manually open the projector to fix this or you have the option to have it serviced.

Thanks for using FixYa.
Keep me posted.

Go to the MENU first (Press the MENU button on the remote), then press RESET. Try this first, see if it will successfully reset. Keep me posted.

Open the MENU again and select PICTURE.

Once the PICTURE is selected, press RESET. If it does not reset, Adjust the values of the picture options exactly as shown above. These values are the standard values and should give a good color result.

Then select SETUP and adjust the values exactly as shown below.

See if there will be any progress.

Note that I am assuming that you haven't check these things yet. We need to check these before concluding that there is something wrong internally.

Keep me posted. I'll be standing by.

Make sure also that you have completed the steps properly after installing the new LAMP.

    The last steps should be:
After replacing the LAMP, connect back the power cord.
    The ON/STANDBY indicator lights RED.
While in this state, press the following buttons in the remote control in the following order for less than 5 seconds each: RESET, < (arrow left), > (arrow right), ENTER.

If you haven't done this, please remove and reinstall the lamp again then complete the installation by doing these final steps.

    Keep me posted.

In that case, my professional advice is to have it serviced as it needs to be opened to check the lcd panels.

The color of the presentation is distorted when it is projected from the BenQ DX660 Projector. It looks like the red is not coming through.

I I may have you try a simple test first, I have seen several no red problems fixed by changing or wiggling the vga lead to the computer. Also look for bent gold pins on the vga lead. I would do that first. Also go through the menu system and see if there is red in one of the icons on the screen to see if it is showing correct colour.
Good Luck!

Try turning colour correction OFF. (button in up position). See what affect the iris control has. This control will changed the color of the slide from deep red at nearly closed to washed-out blue and white. at full open. I adjust the controls for each slide. The color temperature of the 8549 lamp varies with the brightness. lower level warmer, higher cooler.

Blue instead of red colour afer replacing lamp in sharp xv-z2000

You didn't put your 3-D glasses on backwards, did you? :)

Seriously, if you are using the component inputs, be sure the three cables didn't get mixed up when you put the projector back. Otherwise, you might have an issue with the color wheel inside the projector, but I doubt it.

In the menu selection I don't have access to sharpness, or color adjustment. The picture image is violet. How do I make adjustments in color?

Sounds like the pins on the computer cable are bent...there are three pins that carry Red Green Blue parts of the picture . if one is missing, bent etc you will loose that colour.
It could be more serious also, UV filters in projector are worn out, these are not user replaceable items, or if DLP many be part of the colour sector is missing.

You may be hearing the color wheel turning. Make sure the lamp is installed correctly and lamp access door/plate is properly closed.

Check to be sure that the projector is in the correct mode. If it is expecting an RGB signal and you send it (Y,Pr,Pb), you will see the picture as you describe. The same works for the above reversed. In all likelyhood, you are sending RGB and the projector is expecting the other.
