Lower scroll bar (width) presents pages too wide. How to reset it? It did this after I pressed Menu on the monitor and looked through the categories I might have pressed something.

...hi, i've got a 2" wide black vertical area on

That reads like an alignment problem on the monitor, rather than a computer setting.. If you have a flat-panel monitor, usually on the front, lower right or along the right side, you can press a Menu or Settings button, press + or - to the Horizontal setting, press the Select button, then press the + or - button to move the display to the right. Press the Select or Menu button again to set the new location.

The actual button designations could be different.. best if you look at the manual on the monitor.

If graphics card will let you oversize the display, it might also have a Pan option that would let you slide the display back to the right. In that case, look in the Notification area (lower right) of the screen for a graphics card icon that will let you Pan right.

LG20" monitor. Suddenly a red

Try to reset it
Scroll through the menu options by using the up and down arrow buttons located just under the "Menu" button. Scroll down to the "Setup" icon, which looks like a big cog. Press the "Auto/Set" button to access the Setup menu. Scroll, using the down arrow, to "Factory Reset." This setting is located at the bottom of the Setup menu. Press the "Menu" button on the right side of the monitor. This will bring up the On Screen Display. If nothing happens when the "Menu" button is pressed, press and hold it for several seconds to unlock the On Screen Display. Press the "Auto/Set" button to choose "Factory Reset" and then press the down arrow to reset the monitor.

I have a wide screen Acer monitor, yet am unable to view my whole web site without scrolling down. I have adjusted the resolution to allow the font to fit on the page, and can see it perfectly with IE,...

Sounds like either your display resolution needs to be set higher or when you bring up firefox after the page loads press and hold the ALT key and Click View, ToolBars and select Menu Bar. This will keep it at the top everytime you open firefox. Now under View you can zoom in and zoom out. You can also select Full Screen. *** Before doing anything did you click the middle box at the top right hand corner of the screen between the - and red x? This toggles between full screen also.

Hello, I have an invitation that is 4in wide x 9 inches in height. I want to print something on it, but not sure how to get my printer to recognize that I am using custom size paper. It keeps printing on...

In addition to the wide variety of standard paper sizes available for this printer, you can use custom size paper in the Tray 1 (MPT).
The size range for custom size media is as follows:
    Minimum allowable page size:
    89 x 140 mm (3.5 x 5.5 in.)
    Maximum allowable page size:
    216 x 356 mm (8.5 x 14 in.)
  1. Open Tray 1 (MPT).
  2. Insert the custom size paper and adjust the guides to match the size of the paper. Place the side to be printed facedown with the top of the page entering the printer first.
  3. When the front panel prompts you to confirm the type and size of paper:
    1. Scroll to Change by pressing the Down Arrow key and press the OK key.
    2. Scroll to the correct paper type and press the OK key to save your selection.
    3. For the paper size, scroll to Custom and press the OK key.
    4. Select Set Custom Width (W) by pressing the OK key.
    5. Press the Down Arrow or Up Arrow key to scroll to the desired value for X and then press the OK key.
    6. Scroll to Set Custom Height (H) and press the OK key.
    7. Press the Down Arrow or Up Arrow key to scroll to the desired value for Y and then press the OK key.
  4. Select the custom size in the printer driver.
  5. Windows 95 / Windows 98 / Windows Me PostScript driver: On the Setup tab:
    • After you select the Multi-Purpose Tray and the tray displays Custom to indicate that it has custom size paper, enter the dimensions of the custom size paper in the Width and Height boxes.
    • If you select Automatic for the paper source and select Custom Size for the paper size, enter the width and height values of the desired custom size paper in the Width and Height boxes. The values for width and height are initially 0. If you previously entered information in the boxes, the values are automatically entered.
Windows NT / Windows 2000 / Windows XP PostScript driver: On the Paper/Quality tab:
    • If you select Choose Specific Tray, select the Multi-Purpose Tray.
    • If you select Automatic, you can select your custom size from the Paper Size drop-down list.
    • Click My Custom Sizes and highlight the custom size in the Current Selection list. The Name, Width, and Height boxes display the details about the highlighted custom size and the sample image changes to represent a scaled version of the custom size.
    • To create a new custom size:
      1. Click New.
      2. Enter the new name in the Name box.
      3. Enter the dimensions in the Width and Height boxes. The sample image changes to represent a scaled version of the new custom size.
      4. Click Save to add the new size to the list. Click Cancel to exit without saving the new custom size.
      5. To exit, click Close.
    • The My Custom Sizes box lists existing custom sizes that are supported by the current printer. Since these custom sizes are saved in your computer's operating system, they are available for you to select in your applications.
    • If you create a custom size in certain applications, the driver lists the custom size automatically.
    MacOS 8 / MacOS 9 driver:
    • In the Page Setup dialog box, click on Page Attributes, and select Custom Page Sizes. Then press New to enter a new custom page size. A dialog box appears where you can enter the width and height, margins, and name of the custom page size.

After mouse click of print preview, program produces column 20 spaces wide instead of full page portrait width.

I went into properties after the print preview routine presented the print screen for the printer and hit properties reset page and it cleared up.
