SOURCE: Ryobi gas string trimmer won't run

I have a RYobi SS30 and it will not run at all. I have pulled the cord about a hundred times, yes after about 10 I should have gotten the picture, but if anyone knows what to do to correct this I would appreciate this. I am not very mechanically inclined so any help would be appreciated

The linefrom the tank with the filter goes to the mixture inlet on carb. The fuel return goes to the suction side of bulb. The bulb outlet line goes to the tank. Hopes this helps

The tiller starts fine but then dies when you get it to full throttle

Did you put in new gas, and the proper gas oil mix for a 2 cycle, if required? Be sure your gas lines are not cracked or hard, this can cause leaks and hose breakdown, ie carburetor issues.
If so you should try putting in some Sea Foam gas additive. Most auto parts stores have it, it is great and has solved a lot problems for me with out tear down.. Let it run a while, at med or fast idle, then come back later or next day and try to run it, after a couple of running sessions mine straightened right out.Carburetor may be gummed with varnish, the sea foam seems to help reduce that and with running time, eliminates it.

Mantis starts ok, and idles just fine, but when you give it gas it dies?

Start with the basics. Check condition of fuel lines and fuel filter. May need a simple adjustment by backing out on the low mixture screw just enough to give you a smooth "throttle up". You may also need to open the high mixture screw to obtain proper high speed. If adjustments do not correct the problem, you could be looking at overhauling or replacing the carburetor, whichever is more cost effective. Hope this helps.

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:

You will need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner. Make sure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to see daylight through it.)

Use a Den Tek Brush, (,to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.

If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.

If you need further assistance on:
1. Fuel line replacement or
2. Carburetor kit replacement

Just let me know.

Ryobi blower stars and idles great. dies when you

Sounds like you need to clean the carb. Buy some carb cleaner and remove the lines to the carb and gently spray cleaner into each of the holes. Reconnect the lines.
Good luck!
