Question about HP Photosmart 3310 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

I have a HP Photosmart 3310 all in one printer that gives me the error message Oxc18a0101. I've tried the suggested method of repair found on the HP website and in that process, I never got the "insert cartridges" message on the screen. All it would show was "printer access door is open". Also got advive on opening the right side of the printer which would have been a real chore since it doesn't open to be put together where that would be possible. Any other idesa?

If you have performed all the ts steps then there is not much steps to do.. what you can do is a reset on the printer by doing a simple step..
unplug the power chord from the back of the printer >> press the pound (#) and no 6 key together >> without releasing the button plug in the power chord...
the alignment will continue..
check if this works or not or else i m afraid that you need to replace the printer.

POssible hardware issue already.
"printer access door is open". it means the sensor inside the printer that identifies if the access door of the printer is open is already damaged or stucked.

POssible resolution is to open the printer but like you say its really a core work already. If you are an HP customer, they have a loyalty program where you can upgrade that printer to a newer version and you are not going to pay the upgraded version to a retail price but you will be given a discounted price with extra promo they have exclusively for hp customer only

Hope I help you a bit.

Hi,

1- Turn off power and unplug from power source.
2- Open right side of printer (looking at the front).
3- Disconnect,by pulling gently, both white flat ribbon cables off the main circuit board.
4- Plug in power source and turn printer on. Wait till you get a error message and push "Ok".
5- Unplug power source.
6- Reconnect the flat ribbon cables by aligning and carefully pushing into the conectors on the main circuit board.
7- Plug in power source and turn printer on (Printer preparing occurred).
8- voila, the nasty error message 0xc18a0001 "Ink System has Failed" is now gone

Try this and it works

My HP Photosmart 3310 keeps giving Paper jam message. It ejects the page when cancelled.I have cleaned rollers as suggested by HP. Sometimes when you request a photcopy it prints OK sometimes, so I do not...

I have had the same problem on and off for over a year. Recently it got so bad the printer would not print more than one sheet without going into "Paper Jam" mode with no actual apparent paper jam. I found this video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs-Lyw5xXLg ) on YouTube explaining what to do for a similar model to the 3310. The video is very professionally done and was very thorough. I checked all the areas the video suggests and found that my problem was a tiny scrap of paper that was stuck to the right of where the printer carriage parks. 3310 works like a champ once again (still an ink hog though :(

Check out the video & good luck!

I have a hp c7280 printer with a error code OXC18A0101 what does it means

Hi,

The "Oxc18" series errors can be removed by resetting the printer. Unplug the USB cable from the printer, remove the ink cartridges. When the "Insert ink cartridges" message appears unplug the power cord from the printer. Wait 1 minute (at least), then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer if it didn't come on by itself. Reinsert the ink, close the unit and print a calibration page if prompted to do so. Finally reconnect the USB cable to the printer. If this doesn't work, the unit needs service (or replacement if the service call will cost more than a new printer).

Thank you!!
