Verify that your optical drive is DVD capable. if it is download a DVD application (sonic or cyberlink power DVD)
Check you BIOS and verify if the DVD is detected in BIOS (if not try reseating the drive)
Check my computer if it is listed (if it isnt delete the upper and lower filters)
