The issue is the charger port on the ENV2 breaks fairly easily.The first step is to contact your carrier to see if it is coveredunder warranty. If it is, great get it replaced.
If not, you have 3 options:
1. you can get the charging port repaired. The cost is about 50 dollars. I recommend Cellulardr.com
2. you can get a new phone. cost ???
3.You can get an external battery charger to charger the batteryseparate from phone. cost about 25 dollars. Check out the following linkfor ones that are available on ebay. A extra battery is a good idea aswell so you can have one charging at all times.

I have the EnV2 and at first i would have to hold the charger

i got my env2 4 months ago and i have t hold the charger thing or else it wont charge. it isnt the charger because it works on other env2s. its actually inside the phone that is messed up.

Ive had mine since June 17 2008 and it wont hold a charge. Ill charge it completley and it will be almost dead when i unpulg it...

I got my phone four moths age ago, and now i'v tried six different plugs and it wont charge, i have to move the cord all around and hold it like that for it to show its charging and as soon as i move it stops charging whats wrong with it?

I have the same problem. This LGenv2 is new, too (have had for less than one month). Have tried replacing battery, thinking that was defective. Says "charge complete", but then dies after less than 2 days. Husband has same phone; makes approximately same amount of calls, IMing, etc. and his holds charge for close to a week.

i got my first one the week they came out
every 2-3 months i have needed a new one

I'm on my second ENV2 since Aug 08!! Seem that after about 2 months, the charger port somehow gets messed up (for lack of a better term). I returned the first phone to the warranty people and they sent me a "factory refurbished" phone that looked brand new. Two months later and here we go again! I'll be calling the warranty people today.
