If the dryer is running and then the motor stops when it gets hot it sounds like you have a bad motor.when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer and vent line?also i need the model number,on some kenmore dryers they have even heat that can cause this to happen if it's in your machine the timer will count down faster than normal and shut down ,or you could have a bad thermister so send the model number and i can check it out for you.

I have an Asko 7305 Dryer that keeps tripping the fuse. When I put a load in to dry, it will run for a few minutes, then stop. I push the black button in the back and it will come back on for a few, then...

either the motors overloaded from clothes load size, the motor bearings are getting tight from lack of lubrication, or the dryer heating element is beginning to short out to the case and grounding itself and tripping the fuse

Turns off after a few minutes

sounds like your motor is overheating or going bad. sometimes lint built up around the motor can cause it to overheat. or the motor is dying.

My dryer stops running before the clothes are dry. You have to wait a few minutes and then start it again once it has cooled down

clean and check the lint filter and the exhaust duct, run the dryer and go outside to the vent and check for proper air flow. if it is blowing good may be a thermostat internally causing the issue

Maytag Neptune MDG 5500 AWQ heats sporatically

your dryer has a safety feature that it will not run or heat when the door is opened. It is so no gas fumes are exhauseted into your home. Once the safety is engaged, It will not allow the dryer to restart for a short while. It should clear itself after only a few minutes. Hope this helps, good luck.

Dryer gets hot when not running

Getting hot when not started is a great concern.
I have a few ideas why, but this is a fire hazard and I would suggest unplugging and either getting help or replacing.
That said, there here are a few suggestions.
1) if the element is shorted to ground, it will get power to one side of the element and heat though ground. This, again, is serious.
2) if it heats forever and doesn't get warm enough to dry, this is another indication of an element that is not working up to power. Not getting 230 across the entire element and not getting hot enough to dry.
3) Many times when a dryer runs too long, the air flow if blocked by the vent being plugged or some plug withing the dryer itself.

Again, I am very concerned about this problem and suggest you not use it until it is repaired. If you want to check the element, it is fairly easy, but unit will need disassembled.
