How do I attach the tv stand to a 40 inch Coby television?

This requires some care---set will have to be laid face down--the screen unit or display panel is EXTREMELY fragile---the set must be laid down so the entire frame around the screen is supported and no pressure is exerted on the actual screen! One wrong move or downward pressure can damage/destroy the screen.

The base is attached with several bolts that come with the set--exact length and thread type is critical. They may all be same or different lengths. Line them all up and tighten with hand--snug them down evenly with a tool---NO downward pressure on screen when doing this.

If have lost or do not have the bolts contact the maker who will tell you size, thread type and number of bolts.

Carefully when done lift set upright.

I bought a new Vizzio M22OVA and have been trying literally for days to attach the base stand. I even called Vizio customer service and they were no help. I'm at a total loss. I really love the design of...

The stand has 8 small tabs that protrude from the top of the stand. There is also a larger clip that sticks up a little in the center. Purpose of large tab is to snap into place to keep stand from coming off. Just place stand on bottom of tv so the tabs on the stand go into the holes in bottom of tv.
Then just slide stand forward or backward till it snaps into place. I think 2 screws go into the bottom of stand after it is snapped in place to hold it. Just be careful and don't put any undue pressure on the screen. Actually works better with one person holding the tv upside down while another snaps base in place.

TV tilts forward on base about 15 degrees, TV will pivot left or right but won't remain perpendicular or upright.

The only things I could think of causing this would be either the hardware not tightened up properly or defective base (stand.) Make sure all the screws are tightened securely in the bottom of the base and in the back of the tv where the base attaches. Someone may have used the wrong screw holes to attach the base but there really should only be 4 holes to use to screw the base to the tv. This may need returend to the retailer for an exchance of the base.
  1. Oh, the last thing to check is that someone did not put the base on in reverse. Most have a small alightment tab that makes sure the front of the base goes to the front of the tv and if it is put on backwards the tv would tilt forward a few degrees.

How do you remove the bottom stand from the TV set so you can hang it on the wall? I have unscrewed the bottom of the stand, but there seems to be something internal keeping it attached to the TV.

Hi there,
Most flat TV's actually have the stand held on by 4 screws on the back of the TV, not the bottom. Look closely and you should see them down 4 small holes. These hold the stand on. I think what you may have done is taken the bottom plate of the stand.
Hope this helps

The picture Is SLANTED / ROTATED off center!!

Some sets have a coil in front of the deflection yoke to compensate for the Earth's magnetic field and on the back panel there is a slide switch that could have been pushed to the wrong position. Since this is a SONY I'm not sure it has this circuit. It is however worth checking out. I hope this will help you. Stargazer
