Automatic timer does not advance but timed heat does advance .?

Unplug the unit from the power, or shut off the breaker. Open the unit and check that all wires are firmly connected, no loose ends or broken wires. If all connects seem tight and the wires are in good condition You may need to replace the timer switch. The link below is for the users/owners manual for your machine:

My dryer runs and drys but after a little while it will trip the breaker in the electrical panel. Anyone have a clue? It's a GE mod.# DLLLR23EG1WW. Thanks in advance for any help. Tom

Hello, W/D here.
When a machine is operating properly, but then trips the breaker, the breaker itself seems to be suspect. Breakers wear over time, and can become "weak". Also, amps on a breaker are time weighted. The more amps that you pull, the less time it takes for the breaker to trip. This is also true with a weak breaker. Check the amps that you should pull with your dryer, and check the breaker. If the breaker is the correct size, try replacing it. You should be on a 30 amp breaker/circuit.
Here are some useful links for your dryer:

How do you install a 3 prong power supply cord to a GE Dryer?

DO NOT CHANGE THE POWER SUPPLY CORD.
you can't change the power supply cord.
the cord came with the dryer is 240v. the three prong is 120v. the dryer will burn up. if you change the power cord without changing the regulator , motor, and the heating element.
you need to get a electrician to run a 240v double breaker from the panel to the dryer.

Sounds like you have a bad magnatron tube, check your owners manual as most of them have a 10 year parts warranty.
