Question about Teac Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a Teac Mc-dx50i Shelf System and it won't turn on. I was moving it from one room(playing fine) to another. Set it up, plugged it into the wall socket, turned it on and it will not power up. The light on the sub-woofer does not come on. Help!

The outlet has power. I plugged in a fan into the same outlet and it works. I have tried more than one working outlet and the unit still will not power up.

I have power upto the transformer(123v) I don't know how to check the power coming from the transformer. It suppose to be DC 12v.

Hi,
First checked the outlet if it is live by plugging another unit to confirm if there was voltage coming that outlet. Let me know if it has a power.

Checked the continuity of the power cord for open internal wire (this is due to frequent bending and pulling) with an ohmmeter. Once confirmed that the power cord is good, open the cover of your unit to check the internal fuse if blown (sometimes it was caused by power surge or aging). If blown, replaced it with exact voltage and current ratings. Let me know if your unit still didn't power up.

Note : before opening the cover, check if it is under warranty, if so don't open, it will void the warranty.

The output of transformer is AC voltage. Best way to check the voltages is across the largest electrolytic capacitor in the power supply (DC voltage). This capacitor will give you an idea of the voltages that you are going to checked by reading the working voltage of it (If rated 50V in its body, you will get below from 50vdc.)

My teac mc-dx50i subwoffer wont turn on and its even plugged in

About all you can do is to make sure it has power and input from the main system. Past that, the amplifier in the subwoofer is most likely damaged. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

I cannot set the clock on my Teac MC-DX50i

I've found that I can only set the clock using the remote. Press and hold the 'time set' button on the remote, and using the forward and back buttons on either side of the play button, you can change your clock to a 12 hr or 24 hr time setting. Once that is set, press the 'time set' button and that will switch you to the hour, and using the same forward and back buttons, set that. Repeat the process to set the minutes. Press the 'time set' button again to exit out of if, and you're all set!
