Did you loose WiFi access password or router password?
If it's WiFi password then you can connect over Ethernet cable, login to the router (default password is blank) and change WiFi password.
If it's router password you will need to reset it to factory defaults and setup everything from scratch.

Here is the manual with the details.

Factory Reset, p. 67

Cannot access router - cannot find password

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings or if there is a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings or if its directly attached to you ISP internet service supplier you could give them a call and get them to connect you online hope this helps

I lost my access code

If you lost the wireless access key you can find it by logging into your router. Using an internet browser type 192.168.1.1 into your address bar. A login window should pop up. The default login is username: admin password: admin . If these do not work then you need to reset your router to factory defaults. If this does work then look for the place where you can change the key and change it. You may need to reset the router after this for settings to take effect but after that it should work.
To reset to factory defaults, look for a button on the back that says reset. Press and hold this down for 30 seconds. Everything should reset to factory defaults and you should be able to connect without a password.

I lost my password to my dir-601 router and need it for an Ipod to run of my wireless net. How can I find it? I have the security code. Thanks

Hello,
You have several options. However, I'm unsure if you have lost the username/password to access your D-Link router's setup/configuration page or if you have lost your wireless access code (used to access your wireless internet).

If you have lost your username/password to your routers setup/configuration page first try the factory default combination.

The default username is: admin
The default password leave blank

If you have customized the username and password during the original install you will have to reset the router to its factory default settings. To do this:
PLEASE NOT THAT BY DOING THIS YOUR ROUTER WILL BE RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULT AND WILL HAVE TO BE RECONFIGURED
Locate the reset button (hole) on the rear panel of the unit. With the router powered on, use a
paperclip to hold the button down for 10 seconds. Release the button and the router will go through its reboot process.

Wait about 30 seconds to access the router. The default IP address is 192.168.0.1. When logging in, the username is: admin and leave the password box empty.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
KYTechnology
