Question about Dryers

1 Answer

The dryer is taking 2-3 full cycles to completely dry the clothes. I have already unplugged the dryer, checked the hose, completely cleaned it of any dirt that was clogged a little. Also used the vaccum cleaner to **** out any dirt that may be clogged in the lint section on top and behind the dryer, but that wont resolve the issue. Thanks.

If you have heat in the dryer you have a blockage somewhere in the dryer or the vent line, how long is the vent line?also try removing the vent line from the back of the dryer and run it to see if it dries,i had a guy tell me he cleaned the vent line,i stuck a leaf blower in the vent line and blew out a birds nest.also check the outside duct,if there's a cage or screen on it remove it and keep it off and then blow out the line. also the duct that the lint filter slides into should be removed and cleaned.send the model number so i can look up your machine,if it's gas you could have bad gas coils, they work fine until they heat up like 15 to 30 minutes then no heat until they cool down and then they will work for a few minutes and stop again, send model number off of the dryer, open the door and look around the opening, you should see a tag with the model and serial number.

Dryer not drying cloths even though it does the full cycle? hotpoint wd63

There are several reasons for this to happen.
  1. Heater element faulty.
  2. Thermostat faulty.
  3. Heater relay faulty.
  4. Blocked condenser.
  5. No cold water going in on drying cycle.
You really need a meter to test the components with, to get the bottom of the problem.

Dryer is spinning and warming up but it's not drying

Exhaust full of lint. Vacuum into dryer exhaust as far as you can, Then clean out complete vent from dryer to outside. Any lint will catch moisture and clothes will not dry.

Not drying as quickly, requires 2 cycles

look inside your lint trap to see if it is clogged. Also remove your vent hose to check for clogs there and at the outlet. make sure your hose isn't kinked.

Dryer heats up ands pins, but it takes forever to

Hi, First thing to check is the 4" venting to the outside. Make sure it is free of any lint and that there are no kinks in the hose. If this is a gas dryer, the couls on top if the gas valve could be getting over heated and not opening the gas valve later in the cycle so there will be no heat.
Please let me know if this helps you or if I can assist you further.

Doesn't Dry Thoroughly

if you have not already you need to clean out your vent hose. if you have a bunch of lint build up in the hose or in the blower wheel of the dryer it won't move air through the dryer that needed to dry.

Takes multiple cycles to dry one load

Clean the dryer vent all the way to the termination site and then clean inside the vent in the dryer. Make sure it is clean of lent. The blower assymebly can also become clogged as well but try the vent hose first. If it is completely clean and it's still haveing trouble, it could be the thermostat on the unit and it is not allowing the dryer to cycle properly.

I have the kenmore dryer 110 if I dry 3 or 4 items its fine if I try to day a full load it takes 4 70 min cycles to dry, towels take even longer, it gets hot inside but does not dry the clothes for hours,...

did you push it too far back and flatten hose ? ck closely before suspecting part better yet try a load without hose connected..if you still have problems and you have top mount filter remove back and remove screws holding lint screen housing pull it out and be sure it is completely clean last suspect would be operating thermostat located beside housing you just removed 2 large wires and possible 2 purple wires may be cutting off too soon but doubtful it would take that long to dry
