The C1033 does NOT charge batteries. By plugging it into the computer you've actually drained the batteries faster since the camera has to spend juice communicating with the computer (even if only to say it has nothing to say). Put in a fresh set of batteries, and next time don't leave it connected to your computer.

Nikon s6300 won't turn on

Coolpix Cameras are tricky to use with chargers. I will assume your USB Charger EH-69P is 100 - 240V 50/60 Hz so it CAN work in many places around the world with an adapter. Do not go over 240V or you could damage it.

These cameras like to have the power supply connected when it is on to charge - meaning if you have it connected and you plug the charger in the wall it will NOT charge. So if you plug the charger in the wall first and then plug the cable in the camera it will work. The camera is actually ON when it charges and I never REMOVE the memory card when it is ON.

When you have a dead battery. Plug the camera in and make sure the ON LED lights and the Charge LED flashes. Then don't mess with it. Let it charge completely (Charge LED stops flashing and is OFF) and then unplug it. It will turn off. Then later you can turn it on.

I need to recharge my battery on my vivcam t328

This one is a bit different as the battery can be swapped out but the only way to charge these is to plug in the usb cable into the camera and into a usb port on your computer. The computer has to be running.and the camera has to be turned off. You will see a green light that shows it charging when the battery is charged the light will go out. Depending on how much power the port supplies it can take 3-8 hours. As long as the port is supply power it really doesn't matter what computer it is on as you are not transferring picstures so don't worry about plugging it into any thing that running to get a charge.

My camera has been plugged into the computer for 24 hours now and the battery still isn't charged. How long does it take to charge and how will i know when it is done charging? i have a Vivicam X029

The manual merely says "a few hours." The LED on the back of the camera lights up while charging and goes off when finished. Not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge batteries. If you're using a hub, bypass it and connect the camera directly to the port. If that doesn't do it, try another port if available. If that doesn't do it, use the supplied AC adapter and plug it into a wall outlet.

How do you get the camera to charge? I put in new batteries and it still says battery low and shuts off. I have plugged it into the computer and it still won't charge. It won't even turn on.

Some camera will not turn on (Turn on but not take pictures etc) when you plug it in USB, it will only communicate with the camera PC suite software to transfer pictures.

Regarding the battery, if your camera has mobile phones type lithium ion batteries then you can either charge these batteries outside if you have a charger for them or put the battery in camera and plug the camera with its charger that came with it. Its just like charging mobile phone.

If your camera uses AA size (pencil cell) batteries then you will need to either buy Duracell batteries (or any other good Alkaline battery, Duracell is good) and throw them when they stop working or

Buy rechargeable AA size Ni-MH or Li-Ion batteries with charger. Charge the battery with its charger for at least 12 hours before first use or follow the instruction written on battery pack.

I think you are either using normal carbon AA size batteries that are used in clocks or toys, these will not work in digital camera.

I just got a brand new flip video mino hd and it wont turn on. i've charged it for atleast 4 hours. when it is plugged in the red light comes on. that is the only response i get from it. any...

I had to charge mine for 7 to 9 hours the first time, and make sure computer is left ON or it won't charge and the red light stays lit until it is fully charged. make sure the red light isn't blinking if it is, plug it into a different USB 2 port and don't use extension with it unless it is a powered USB extension.

After being reset and plugged back into computer to charge, a red light pops on as soon as plugged back into usb port to charge and will not turn on.

Put a pin in the reset button situated in the tripod hole.Do it three times for about thirty seconds each time. Also depress the on off switch for about thirty seconds.Put it in the usb port of your computer to charge. After about thirty minutes or an hour the screen should go white.A battery shows on the screen.Wait till the battery shows all green, then it is fully charged.

Charging batteryif i dont have a device to charge the actual batt

Yes, assuming the USB port into which you plug it provides enough current. Not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge other devices.

How do I charge the battery?

You can actually charge this camera right from your computer's USB port. Use the small, rectangular hole and plug the small end of the USB cord into that and the other end into the USB port in your computer or laptoip. The green charging light should come on but the computer won't recognize new hardware since you don't need to turn the camera on. In fact, it will charge faster if you leave it off, so you can just leave that plugged in for a few hours and go about your business.
Hope that helps. Good luck. :)

Well.. I have to plug in the charger that came with the dv-179. If I use my Phone (motorola usb) charger, or a USB cable (into the computer or a hub), all it does is light up the back red light (and not the front 'self timer' led) and does not charge the camera. So remember, if the back led lights up, you've got the wrong charger!
