Question about Computer Associates CA-Visual Objects 2.5 Full Version for PC

Open Question

I'm trying to retrieve a lost Product ID from files from a previous CA-Visual Objects 2.0 installation on what used to be my C: drive, so that I can install it on my new machine. Since Computer Associates no longer provides technical support for versions below 2.5, I've been trying to find it on this drive, but without success. Do you where I might find this product ID?

How do u go back to the correct os ? I have put win 8.1 - 64 through and tried custom install and all 3 drive 0 partition 1, 2 & 3 are saying windows can't be installed Because this might contain important...

I'd try to "start over" without "custom install" .
If this is an "upgrade" You must have a "legal" previous Window's product on the Hard drive, and the associated Product key. Otherwise, you will need the complete Win8.1 product with its product key. I've did an 8.1 upgrade to a winXP product. I probably had to read the instructions a number of times and it's been a while. Good luck.

Want to restore previous "Windows.old"

you deleted the partition C that the windows old folder was on, you may try a windows restore, however....the files can be retrieved they are still there, you need YODOT HARD DRIVE RECOVERY PROGRAM to scour the old partition that was there previously and restore the folders that you wish to recover onto a new area of the new partition. PLEASE NOTE THE MORE YOU FORMAT OR CREATE AND DELETE NEW PARTITIONS ON YOUR OWN THE MORE THE RECOVERY SOFTWARE WILL FIND IT HARD TO RETRIEVE OLD FILES, SO BEST NOT TO TRY ANY MORE ATTEMPTS ON TRYING TO RECOVER THE LOST ARCHIVE YOURSELF LET YODOT RECOVERY DO IT FOR YOU FIRST. The SD card shown in my computer has "empty file" but it does have pics in it if used in the digital camera. what should i do?

I have had success with this memory card recovery software called asoftech data recovery... Download the program

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

Hello tony15170
You can retrieve your data provided they haven't been overwritten untill now .
Download a recovery tool to do the job for you :
Free Recuva works fine :
Do not try to recover all at once but each category at a time , documents , pictures , music ...etc...
If it fails , try this one . It's not free but very efficient : Tenorshare Data Recovery. It can recover data after deeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data due to accidental erasing , system sabotage, virus corrupted partitions, drives crash, physical damage,etc..
If you still don't have success , you will have to go to a recovery office but let's hope not because it will cost you a lot of money .

I have an original cd-rom for xp pro, but no product key, is there a way to retrieve it from the cd- rom?

  • Use a product key recovery program to find your lost key. An example of such a program is Product Key Explorer

  • 2

Install the program by double-clicking on the file you just downloaded and going through the installation process.

  • 3

Open the program when ready and then click "select computer" and make sure it says "Local Computer." Click on the "Find Keys" button.

  • 4

Locate the program that you installed through your CD-ROM. Next to the product name should be your product key.

  • From here:

    Good luck.

    How to install foxpro

You can install this version of Visual FoxPro from a CD-ROM or anetwork to a local hard drive. You must install Visual FoxPro on alocal drive, not a mapped drive. There is no other preparation requiredbefore installing Visual FoxPro. You must have administrator privilegesto install Visual FoxPro. It is recommended that you run withpower-user privileges to use all the provided tools effectively.
Youcan safely install or uninstall using Visual FoxPro Setup. If you areupgrading Visual FoxPro, you must first uninstall the previous versionof of the program. Though both versions of Visual FoxPro can exist onthe same computer, you cannot install the current version of VisualFoxPro in the same directory as the previous version.
If you planto publish XML Web services using Visual FoxPro, you might want to setup Internet Information Services (IIS) on a Windows 2000, Windows XP orWindows Server 2003 computer. Refer to your operating systemdocumentation for instructions on how to set up and configure IIS.
030c41d9079671d09a62d8e2c1db6973.gifNote VisualFoxPro setup no longer installs any Windows operating system ServicePacks or versions of Internet Explorer. It is highly recommended thatyou install the latest versions of these components before installingVisual FoxPro. Additionally, Visual FoxPro 9.0 is supported only onWindows 2000 Service Pack 3 or later. For details about installing thelatest Service Pack, visit the following Microsoft Web page at
Full installation includes all Visual FoxPro program files, online help, and samples files.
    To install Visual FoxPro

030c41d9079671d09a62d8e2c1db6973.gifNote Ifyou use a virus protection program on your computer, override it orturn it off before running the Installation wizard. The Installationwizard might not run properly with virus protection turned on. Afterinstallation, be sure to restart your virus protection program.

How do I retrieve lost pictures on my Olympus xD card? I think I formatted it without knowing. We have tried 2 different downloads without success. Do the card readers retrieve the pictures?

If it is re-formatted it is likely a lost cause, unless the formatting only changes the directory labels to available--like on a hard drive or the trash can with a simple delete or quick format.
...potentially some of the bit by bit utilities such as used for recovering hard drive data or from trash. [cannot think of the name off hand--like Recuva, Free undelete etc]
..Yes, I would try a card reader. as then you can look at the files somewhat directly in explorer and have the potential for recovery utilities to work, or maybe even read the files (as apposed to through the Olympus which may require the DCIM file labels to function); I recall reading about recovery for photos in particular--but in general the recovery programs look for data that fits a file type structure like MP3, JPEG, Tiff, and will retrieve even partial files--- have successful found portions of mp3 songs but have not had the occasion to try on images.
