Question about Cakewalk A-500PRO USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller

1 Answer

Hi Guy's, just purchased the cakewolk A-500Pro. I having real difficulty with the driver installation. The installer goes through the first process and when it asks you to plug in the usb cord and turn unit on to usb, this is where my difficulty lies. The computer is doing alot of something but then it just fades and nothing is happening even after a good heatlhy 10 mintues of waiting. I have gone through all the trouble shooting material in the back. Made sure no programs are running, no antivirus, no adaware, shut down the internet. However windows continues to want to install the driver, I let that happen once but even that failed. I'm also logged in as administrator. I'm running Windows 7 pro 64 bit ( also been using the 64 bit installer. Sheesh ! I have installed tons of drivers in my day but not totally stumped. I want to use this unit ? HELP !

I am needing to replace my piezo drivers for the S715 cabinets and they are 8 ohm 15 watt drivers. Will these cabinets only safely handle 15 watts, or can I replace them with higher wattage drivers? I am...

Hi,

No worries here, in fact you can attach a non-piezo hf driver, coupled with a 2.2uf/3.3uf MKT filter and that should do the job with ease, even better than with piezoelectric devices, hope this helps...

Hello guys, i have a problem with my midi keyboard. My PC doesn't recognize the USB connection and i can't find any solution.

Well first start by verifying USB port works by plugging in a hard drive or something thus proving you have a good port and USB Cable. At which point hook the keyboard up ( and make sure to properly install drivers provided on cd with purchase) being a pc this may take several attempts to install. What software are you trying to control? Reason? Logic? Fruityloops?

Hi i recently bought a Takamine EG 260c G Series acoustic electric Guitar with TP-4T preamp installed in it. Now the problem is when i connect my guitar to an amplifier, the sound comes through it only...

That is working backwards from what it should be. I suspect a wiring error. Since this is a recent purchase, do NOT risk voiding your warranty. There isn't any real good documentation on the tuner.
I am not sure which tuner you have HOWEVER with one type, the FIRST press will turn on the tuner with the sound going out as well till the tuner goes off. The SECOND press silences the sound and is tuner only, the THIRD press turns off tuner and passes the sound. This is different than a lot of tuners and you will need to do three presses to restore sound instead of the usual two.

Hi. I purchased some Grover Rotomatic tuners on my electric guitar and am having difficulties figuring out how to put the strings through them. Normally where there should be a hole where the strings go...

If you see a hole on the thumbscrew post, you have to line it up with the hole in the solid post by screwing it in or out until it does. Then you put the string through. Hope this helps.

WDM Driver failed to install is the first of four

Make sure you verify that your computer meets the requirements for the Omega. I have one of these and it installed on an XP with no problem.

Maybe you have Vista instead of XP. OFTEN there are incompatibilities of Vista. If you have that or heaven forbod Windows 7, you may either need a different WDM or have to backstep to the XP operating system.

In short, VERIFY the requirements of teh Omega and its software with the OS and system you are trying to install it on.

A last thing to try is to install it while in "SAFE MODE".

Connect usbtocomputer

Hello - I am too a personal owner of a CASIO CTK keyboard, a little older than yours (model CTK-601) a great keyboard BTW, and I have connected it to my computer successfuly.

There are 2 ways of connecting the keyboard to your PC......Using the MIDI outputs and a special MIDI to gameport adapter - if you have a very old system and have a joystick port (D-sub shape) on your soundcard or PC, then you use that cable. Of course this is legacy and stopped existing in newer computers, now USB is used.

Only the professional line of soundcards have direct MIDI inputs. For most of us, with consumer soundcards and PCs, there are no MIDI inputs.

The good news is that newer keyboards support USB MIDI and features direct USB connection - so all you have to do is install the drivers that are provided with your keyboard, usually a CD, and follow the instruction to install the USB drivers for your casio keyboard, BEFORE you plug in the cable (very important!) once installed you reboot and connect your keyboard using a USB cable

Now if your keyboard is older and has MIDI outputs, like mine for example, you will need to purchase a MIDI to USB adapter, those have MIDI cables in one end that plug to your keyboard and the other end a USB connector....... I don't know about the rules if I am allowed to post websites, but the product i'm using is the Uno from M-Audio - in google do this search:

"m-audio"uno

(exactly as shown above with quotes, and uno outside quotes)

Your CTK-810 may alreayd have a USB connector on it, as it is a newer generation keyboard - I am pretty sure it does - what you will have to do as stated above is located your bundled CD-ROM and install the USB drivers - you will need to purchase a USB cable (seperately).
