Question about Cameras

1 Answer

Panasonic Lumix TZ3 I have 6 photographs on the camera internal memory. I can only see these photos when the memory card is taken out. How do I transfer these to my computer please? If I put a memory card in I can only see the photos on the card, and not on the internal memory.

Two options. One, leave the card out of the camera when you connect to the computer, then download the pictures. Two, use the camera's copy function to copy the pictures to the memory card, then download the pictures.

Internal memory card

You've got two possibilities.

Remove the memory card before connecting your camera to your computer.

Use the "Copy" command in the Playback menu to copy photos from the internal memory to the memory card, then transfer them fro the memory card as usual.

The "Copy" command is on page 108 of the manual: http://www.fixya.com/support/p509855-panasonic_lumix_dmc_fz8_digital_camera/manual-30307

This is a problem with the memory card. I don't know why your camera is not giving an error message of some kind- it seems to know that it can't store pictures there.

Probably the first thing to try is formatting the card. There is a function in the camera menus to do this. If it won't format or gives an error when you try, then there may be an issue with the connectors in the card slot or the card may be incompatible.

Maybe it is having trouble with the size of the memory. Memory cards have grown enormously in capacity in the last couple of years, and even relatively new cameras may not be able to cope with the memory size of the newest cards.

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

In the menu there is an entry for "copy" which gives you the option to copy the internal memory to a memory card for easy downloading. Then, when the pics are safely on the card, take it out of the camera and go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory.

Are you formatting the card in the camera as you're supposed to? Have you tried going into the menu and finding "reset" and followed the on-screen instructions? Do you have photos on the internal memory? If so, remove your card and format the camera to erase the memory.
