Yes I remember there was a trick to MODD your Phone Firmware to Enhance your SMS capacity.
But Its risky enough, What I'l advise you is to Use This Tool, this will backup all your SMS's in one Click.
All you need is your DCU-60 Cable (That comes in the Box), You will need the Cable Driver, free download here
Hopefully, you will get, what you wanted.

Cannot expand capacity, but you must delete your SENT messages. They are taking up the room and leaving you with only a small amount of space for your inbox. Check your outbox and sent msgs and delete them.

Samsung's SMS storege is tooooooo sucking btu i like the NOKIA's sms storage it can store up to 1000 sms not the parts in sms,

if phone can be access menu with or without sim
just type the code *2767*3855# and all data from phone will clear out and password reset to default
if cant access phone , then you need to go repair shop
