Hooking up the speaker to an amp, using the rca line out of the amp i have no volume control from the amp knobs, can i hook the speakers up to the amp from the speaker out ?

You should NOT under any circumstances connect an audio input lead to a speaker output jack!
The RCA jacks you are trying to take output from ore "pre fader" which would be solid "line level" and not controlled by volume controls. Tap off the INPUT to the amp... you should be using balanced lines for the interconnects. RCA jacks are unbalanced lines. You can drive several inputs from a line level output of a mixer for example using a splitter cable.

hi,
normally in any amplifiers or pre amplifiers the RCA sockets used only for pre input and output. for speaker out always there will be binding post or speaker sockets, u can connect the pre amps RCA output to ur power amps input. there will be seperate connector for speaker connection in ur power amplifier . You didn't specified the make and model number of ur amplifier and pre. need any further help feel free to contact.

I need to know step by step how to hook up my entired system using my macki board. I have a Mackie 1604 Vlz, a power amp for mains, a power amp for subs, a crossover, a vocal effects processor, and a 16...

ok, first thing will be the effects processor. look for the "aux sends" output jacks near the bottom center of the rear panel. run a 1/4 inch instrument cable from "aux send" 3 out into the input on the vocal processor, and run another from aux 4, if the effects processor has 2 inputs. then, from the vocal processors output, run 1/4 inch cables back into the "stereo returns" on the mixer, (located on the rear panel on the bottom, extreme left) 2 outputs per input, since its making stereo effects. so, if you ran just send 3 into the processor, you should have a left and right return instrument cables into the mixer for "stereo return" 3 (left and right). if your processor has 2 imputs, and you are using both "aux send" 3 and 4, then you will have to have a pair of cables going to each "stereo return" for 3 & 4. -to apply effects to a microphone(s), you would adjust the individual aux send levels for each channel you want to have effects, and you would have to ensure that the master aux sends and returns are also turned up..

ok, the snake is simple, each xlr (3 prong mic) connector on the snake is labeled, so, just plug each xlr jack into the corresponding channel on the board, and plug the first 2 1/4 inch ends of the snake into the "C/R out balanced" outputs on the board, located on the rear panel, up and to the left a bit.

at the stage end of the snake, ues a 1/4 inch instrument cable to copnnect the first 2 1/4 inch jacks on the snake to the left and right inputs of the crossover. then, from the crossover, connect the sub power amp to the "low" stereo outputs of the crossover with instrument cables, and connect the main speakers amp to the "high" stereo outputs of the crossover with instrument cables. if its an adjustable corssover, you will want to have it crossed over somewhere about 80-120 hz to allow only the lowest frequencies to the subs.

now, from the amps to the speakers, we ane going to have to use heavier 12-14 gague SPEAKER CABLES, instead of light gague instrument cables. hook the subs up to the stereo speaker outs of the sub amp with speaker cables, and do the same for the main speakers.

How to connect mixer to a crown power base 2 amp and speakers

just use the main left and right outputs of the behringer to run xlr (3 prong balanced) to 1/4 inch (looks like a big headphone plug) cables into the inputs of the crown amp. the mixer has the xlr outputs and the amp has 1/4 inch inputrs, sop the cables will have to reflect that on both ends. run the outputs of the amp (rca outputs, i believe, you may have to get a rca plug to 1/4 inch jack adapter, and then use a 1/4 inch speaker cable) to the inputs of the speakers, again, the amp has rca outputs and the speakers will likely have 1/4 inputs, so you will have to address that wil an adapter. have each speaker in its own channel.

I KNOW WHAT THE INPUT 1 AND 2 ARE USED FOR . BUT WHAT ARE PRE OUT AND POWER IN USED FOR. PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND. THANKS DAVE

If one choses to use an external amplifier one takes the pre out and connects that to the in of the external amp.

If one uses an external mixer and wants to use the amp and speakers in the cabinet, the output of the mixer is connected to the Power Amp input.

HINT: DO NOT use these jacks... the jacks have switch contacts that pass the preamp to the power amp and if you use the jacks, sometimes these contacts fail and then you have to open the amp and restore the contacts to get it to work.

The jacks are really weak and EASILY damaged as are the guitar inout jacks if the cables are yanked sideways.

ALWAYS loop your cables through the handle so if they are yanked they don't damage the jacks.

I have 1 center channel pre-out on back of my kenwood receiver. how do i hook it to the inputs on onkyo m-282 amp and then to center channel speaker?

Unfortunately can't connect it that way. The pre out is only meant to go directly into an amplifier that has all of the same inputs (front/rear, center and surround), not a standard receiver. (Pre amp to amp only, not pre amp to receiver) If your Onkyo doesn't have all the same inputs as your Kenwood preamp has outputs you will just use your standard left/right outputs from the Kenwood to your Onkyo input (CD, Tape, Phono,DVD etc) then use the outputs (front/rear, center and surround) from your Onkyo receiver and connect directly to your speakers..

I wish to know the correct way to connect a Schneider 800w amp Model:spa-9705. What I have is a lead from my deck(marked sub woofer - 1 x red & 1 x black) but at the back of the amp in question it has 4 x...

Hello i_starlin606,

The Schneider SPA-9705 is a 4-channel bridgeable amp. How you intend to use it and what speaker(s) or subwoofer(s) you are connecting to it will determine the appropriate hookup.

If used to drive 4 sets of normal speakers, you would connect your front channels to one set of inputs (usually 1 and 2) and the rear channels to the other set. You would not use the subwoofer outputs coming from the deck.

If used to drive subwoofer(s), you would need two "Y" adapters with a female input side and 2 male outputs. The cables marked "subwoofer" would be plugged into the female "Y" and the male ends would be plugged into the 4 channel inputs on the amp (paired as 1-2 and 3-4). The front and rear preamp outputs on the deck would not be used.

Speaker/subwoofer connections will depend of the number of individual speakers or subs, whether they have single or dual voice coils, and the impedances of the voice coils.

Hope this helps.

Connecting a sonos 90 to BO 8000 active speakers

Does your sonus system has pre-out? you can directly connect one single rca cable to each output into the speakers. make sure, each speakers is set to left and right each channel. these switches can be found above the rca input of the beolab 8000 next to the power link input. You have to understand that by using powerlink source cable is ideal only for other bang&olufsen equipments......however, there are other options, if u don't have a pre-amp output of your amplifier, you can also modify the speaker out of the amp, thru a conversion cable available from bang & olufsen, with an rca cable left and right channel, without interfering with the powerlink.
