Keyboard locked

If they are PS/2, power off make sure that they are not plugged into the wrong port, they will fit....but won't work that way.

If they are USB, try booting into safe mode and see if they work there

Pressing [F8] repeatedly on boot is how to get the Safe Mode options to appear, then use the Arrow-keys, (up or down,) to highlight a Safe Mode option, then press [Enter] to select it.

Can I use a mouse and keyboard with a USB port?

Hi,

Yes, you can use a USB mouse and keyboard. Just plug those devices at the back of your computer. Restart the computer if the devices do not respond.

Plug in a usb keyboard and mouse. Reinstall your keyboard and mouse drivers through the device manager. Let me know if you need help with it.

Dell Wireless Keyboard stopped responding, please help.

The keyboard should have a button underneath it. Press the button on the usb controller first and then the button on the keyboard. Repeat a few times to see if it connects. If you are still having trouble try another set of batteries as some batteries are not designed for wireless products.

Keyboard and Mouse not responding after CMOS Battery replacement.

You may have to reset (turn on) those devices in the CMOS setup.
Typically, you can access that menu by holding down either F5 or F8 (not always the same) and then turning the power on.
One of these should bring up a simple menu with 8-10 choices.
Depending on the BIOS used, setting input/output devices may be semiautomatic or manual.
