Question about HP Photosmart C4280 All-in-One InkJet Printer

Open Question

My hp photosmart c4280 printer keeps saying that my paper size is the wrong size in the tray for printing a 4X6" photo on 4x6" photo paper. I keep changing the settings to 4x6" photo paper, because that is exactly what I'm using. I have the glossy side faced down and the paper sensor size plastic piece is shifted to the right to be the same size and the paper. I even tried printing it from Preview and from iPhoto and none are working. Why??? It has printed many photos on the same paper before.

You could try stacking more paper behind it, thereby creating more pressure on the paper feed.

Hp c6180 won't print from 4x6 photo paper tray

If you put regular paper in the tray as it is asking does the printer use the regular paper to print the picture? If so, be sure the 4x6 photo paper tray (with photo paper) is pushed all the way in, and when you select print there should be an option (probably hidden in a submenu) to select the photo tray as the paper source. If you are printing from Adobe Acrobat, I have not found a reliable way to get the c6180 to use the photo paper tray. I hope this helps.

I use HP Premium Photo paper, 4x6 with tab. Also, there is Photo ink cartridges available for this printer.

Also, use the HP Photosmart Essentials program to print the photos.

The option you are after can be found on the Print screen, if you click on the button saying Printer Preferences. Normally you will have multiple tabs, so click on the one saying Paper and on the Paper Tray option select Manual Feeder.

My HP C7200 printer won't print from the photo tray

If you using a mac: After choosing the Photosmart C7200 to print your file on the print preview, change PAPER SIZE to 4x6, then lower down, change from PREVIEW to PAPER TYPE/QUALITY, more options will open underneath, on SOURCE, change from MAIN TRAY to PHOTO TRAY. You should also change the PAPER TYPE to some kind of PHOTO PAPER (whichever one your using, but the standard seems to be HP ADVANCED PHOTO PAPER)

You have to push in the photo tray~. Push until you hear it click...then it will print from the print tray and in turn, you will be able to print photos unto your glossy photo paper instead of the letter size paper.
