Question about Numark Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

Not really a problem. I just want to know the correct setting of the power "slide". It looks like 3 different settings could be available. My question is: Does the smooth part of the slide align with the 120V or the 240V? If I were to reverse them as in plugging it into 120V while it is set for 240V would any damage be done? Thanks----Dan

I have replace the rear brake pads and rotors and slide pins but they still squell really bad had two shops look at it and they cant find anything wrong with it

Stainless steel slipper replacement is mandatory with the service brake pad installation, even if the slippers appear undamaged. Make sure the slippers are correctly positioned with the slipper ends snug against the outboard end of the anchor plate rail. http://www.mazdabg.com/ftp-uploads/Mazda/--Repair%20Instructions--/2001-2007%20Maza%20B23/MAZDA_B23_01-07_Ch9_Brake_Pads.htm

How do I set the timing?

Your timing may have skipped a tooth. This causes the glowing pipe. (Creates pre/post ignition) Pre-ignition leaves a lot of heat vented to the pipe. There are 3 positions that look like tdc. The flywheel has "I" "T" and range marks. This can be confusing. Put the "T" on the mark and you should be correct. If not you can set it up one tooth or down one from that position. Pre-ignition really robs power. Piston fires before TDC (Top Dead Center) and momentarily kind of acts like it's own break. Dial indicators that screwed into the spark plug hole used to tell us how may degrees from top dead center we had to be to line up the flywheel and pin hole for motoplat (Electronic Discharge Ignitition) Same here if you are on the "T Mark" the dial indicator should be about 1 1/2 degrees Before TDC. You may have to play with it a bit to get it right.
Jetting: You have 3 different jets for max power at RPM ranges. If you are loosing power in the middle it's the needle jet on the slide, If your loosing power on the top its the main jet. The middle is just a raising or lowering of the c-clip on the needle inside the slide. Fatter makes it blubber, thinner makes it hot and reduce power.
The main jet is a physical change of size. Pick up a couple of main jets (Over and Under what you have) at a local bike shop and experiment. Altitude and air temp make a huge difference. We used to sometimes go thru a 6 pack of pistons down in mexico before we got it right on the old two stroke Huskys. The stock jet is 115 I think.
Keep the wire tight and WFO,

I'm trying to connect my Kindle 3 to my wireless network (Cisco Linksys wireless-N broadband router) and I get the error message "unable to connect to wi-fi network. The password you entered is...

Four reasons come to mind that may prevent you from connecting:
  1. Wi-Fi Passwords are case sensitive. Please check again if you entered the password with proper casing and you did not put any extra white space in front or behind. I know, this sounds annoying, but it is really the most common cause for connection problems.
  2. Give your network a unique SSID. This is the network name that shows up in the list of detected networks. Default names like LINKSYS can be troublesome if a neighbor one block down the street happens to have a router from the same company.
  3. Some routers have a MAC address filter as a security measure, limiting service to devices specifically whitelisted. If your router is set up for this, add your Kindle's MAC address to the list of permitted devices. See your router's configuration under Wireless > Wireless MAC Filter. You can check the MAC of your Kindle from its settings page (press HOME, MENU, select SETTINGS, see paragraph headlined "Device Info".
  4. There are twelve different standards for Wi-Fi transmission collected under the hood IEEE 802.11. The four most dominant transmission modes are called a, b, g and n. They differ in radio frequency, modulation method and data rate. Kindle supports the two standards IEEE 802.11 b and g only, which is not really a problem because all wireless routers I ever encountered support one or both of these, too. However, the Linksys N-series can be set up to use 802.11n exclusively, not allowing for b or g connections. In the router menu Wireless > Basic Wireless Settings (Manual Setup), make sure the network mode is configured as "Mixed".
Please add a comment to this solution if one of these items resolved your problem. If you suffered from a different issue I did not think of, it would be nice to drop me a line, too. Other people will benefit from any experience you made.

TV zoomed in

Look at your remote or On-screen menus for ratio settings. The remote might say zoom or ratio. The menus will probably have it under video and then Aspect Ratio. You'll probably need to hit go through several settings to get to the correct ratio. (some choices are 4:3, 16:9, Full-screen - the best choice depends on the set and the source video)

I hope this helps.

(my remote (slightly different TV) has the zoom just above mute so I hit the wrong button often.)

My Magnavox MWR20V6

If unit is still under warranty return it. If unit is still sold at the orginal place of purchase buy another and return the first one stating it wont work and get a refund
1) power source is good? (receptical on the wall or power unit. Locate DVD rec. to another receptical and check Rec. again)
2) power cord going to unit is good, no cuts or melted spots
3) power setting on unit is correct (small red slide type buttong for different country voltage settings)
4) internal fuse, change it even if it doesn't look bad.
5) Weigh the cost of a new one to the repair cost of the old one. If you buy a new one get a good brand RCA is still one of best and longest lasting.

Konica 7115 copier

not familiar with that machine, but
most of these problems are simple, usually customer errors

1-some have sensors in the bak of the machine where the tray slides in, remove ray and look for paper in the back
2-is there any slides or something to adjust to say it is 8.5x11?
3-switch trays is it recording the correct size- if yes the sensors are ok
4-take alook at the other tray it is probably set for a different size paper, try switching it to letter and see if there is a difference in the way the trays are
4- it could be set wrong in the menu
5-bad sensors
