There will be two wires, an earth cut out wire and an earth return wire, the earth wire fits to the spring clip with a terminal connection, the cut out wire also has a small square terminal, this pushes into the side of the red plastic switch, there is a cut a way in the plastic to take it, if it is too loose gently splay the terminal out to create an interference fit.

How to replace the cord in dyson's dc07

Things You Will Need

  • Dyson DC07 power cord

  • T15 Torx-bit screwdriver

  • Small can

  • Camera or cell phone with camera

  • Flat-head screwdriver, 3/4-inch or smaller

  • Needle-nose pliers

Tips

  • Do detach the black wire that goes to the motor as it does not require removal.

Warnings

  • Do not work on the power cord when it is plugged in.

  • Do not force the plastic-covered connectors from the switch or you could break the male ends. Pull them off firmly but gently to avoid breaking the terminals.

  • Do not apply too much force to the plastic arms that hold the housing in place. The plastic arms are fragile and may break easily.

References

1 - Unwrap the power cord from the Dyson DC07. Detach the handle of the vacuum cleaner by pressing the release button. Pull the handle from the hose. Slide the hose down the wand and push the button at the bottom to release the hose from the machine.

2 - Press the button at the top of the dust bin handle to remove the canister bin assembly from the Dyson DC07.

3 - Lay the machine on with its back with the power switch facing upward. Locate the Torx screw directly beneath the switch actuator. Remove the Torx screw, turning it counterclockwise. Place the screw into a small can so you do not lose it.

4 - Remove the switch box housing held in place by the Torx screw just removed. Carefully pry upward on the two plastic arms that clip the housing in place. Take a picture with your cellphone or camera of the open housing to make it easier to reinstall the wires where they belong in the channels and spaces provided.

5 - Center the needle-nose pliers on the female connectors from the power cord attached to the switch. Apply equal force to pull them from the male ends of the switch. Also detach the two wires that connect together within the housing, identified by the clear plastic connector between them. Depending on your machine\'s manufacture date, the wires might have different colors. For example, they may be white and brown, all white or one could be blue. Disconnect a total of four wires -- two from the switch and the two connected together. Leave the other wires alone.

6 - Trace the electrical cord on the machine until you reach its protective cover where it enters the Dyson DC07. Lift up the cord protector to remove it from the vacuum. The cord protector has slotted sides that fit within the plastic. Slide the cord protector from the power cord.

7 - Remove the plastic covers that protect the female ends on the power-cord wires that connect to the switch. The new power cord does not come with these. Insert the tip of the flat-head screwdriver through the top of the plastic connector with two internal ridges. Lift upward and away to pull the wire free from the connector. Repeat for the other wire. Push the female end into the plastic connector until it snaps into place. Repeat for the other power-cord wire.

8 - Thread the new power cord through the cord protector. If you have trouble pushing the wires through, reach in with the needle-nose pliers to pull both wires through the rubber protector.

9 - Reconnect the two separated wires back together by inserting the male end into the female end of the other wire. Reconnect the two wires from the power cord to the switch. Reinstall the switch housing on the machine. Align the wires in the channels provided to keep them from being pinched or pulled out when you reassemble the housing. Look at the photo you took earlier as a guide, if necessary. Insert the wire that goes to the motor in this channel and the white wires connected together to the left of the switch in the area provided.

10 - Put on the switch housing cover and secure it with the screw you removed earlier. Reassemble the vacuum in the reverse order you dismantled it.

Broken Power Switch

Hi Alan
The ADF cover is fixed on the top side (paper -entry) by arresting clamps and on the lower side (paper-exit) by hooks.

Disassembling:
- First remove the paper exit tray.
- On the left and right side of the cover you will find two cross head screws.
- Remove both screws.
- Now you have to release the ADF cover hooks.
- Put your fingers under the ADF cover edge at the paper-exit side or
In case of need you can use a teaspoon handle instead of your fingers.
- Pull out the lower ADF cover edge until the arresting hooks get free.
- Lift-up the lower ADF cover carefully about 1 inch and slide it towards the paper entry side for releasing the arresting clamps on the top.
- REMEMBER IT'S PLASTIC. TOO MUCH FORCE WILL DAMAGE THE COVER.

- Inside the ADF cover you will find a bracket with the power switch knob. Usually the bracket is loosen.
- Fix it in the correct position with plastic glue or heat melting glue.
- Wait until the glue set hard.

Reassembling:
- Reassemble the ADF cover in reverse order.
- Don't forget to screw tight the two cross-head screws before closing the ADF cover.
- Check the switch.
That's all.

Good luck!

How do I replace the headlight on my VW City Golf 2008

you should have an h7 bulb, once to take the rubber grommet behind the headlight, you will see the h7 socket, which has to wires in it, gently pull thi socket off, then there is a small wire holding the bulb in place, gently unhook the wire from the one side. and turn it to the other side and the bulb shoudl come out... replace the bulb putting it in the same way the other bulb came out.. notice the h7 bulb has a small notch on one side. it has to go in the same way or the wire will not hook back on. once it has been placed, turn the wire over the base of the bulb and hook it again, then put the socket back on the bulb and put the grommet back on the headlight.

The top wires, black, white, and green are the ones to hook to just run the fan. The blue wire is wired with the black at the top if you want the lights to work. At the light kit, the blue and white wires power the lights.

How do I replace the battery and where is it located?

Procedure:

Remove battery cover located under the hood on the passenger side in the back. Simply pry the plastic catch in the front, open it like a lid and jiggle it loose and set it aside.
Use the small flat screwdriver to pop up the center peg in the five peripheral fasteners holding down the plastic compartment cover that you just removed the battery cover from. Each of these has a small black plastic circular flat topped center peg inside a larger plastic circular disk which has 4 slots under which you can slide the screwdriver to pop up the center peg. When the peg pops up simply slide the screwdriver under the larger disk to remove the assembly and loosen that site of fixation. When all five fasteners are out you can remove the entire compartment cover.
The battery terminals are removed with the 10mm wrench
The black box in front of the battery can be lifted out of the way by pressing on the plastic catch in the front of the box to loosen it from the metal flange that it is attached to.
The metal battery holder is removed with the 10 mm wrench. The nut is removed and the long bolt is slid out of the holder and then unhooked from it's bottom anchor. Jiggle the metal bar over the top of the battery to unhook the back hook from its bottom anchor. It may be necessary to lift the plastic over the back of the battery gently and lift out the soft clear plastic washer fluid tube from its guides to get at the back hook.
Gently lift the battery out while holding the cables out of the way.
Tools required:
10mm wrench, small flat screwdriver

How do I take my Miele S251i apart to be able to chenge the powercord?

HOW TO OPEN MIELE 251 VACCUUM: 1-Unplug from wall and disconnect power cord 2-Remove black switch panel at back of top panel: A-Use Phillips screwdriver, remove two silver screws visible between back of hinged top door and front of black switch panel
B-Push back of the panel down while pushing it forward (towards front of machine). There are two plastic notches and clips which are tightly fit together that you need to separate.
Once it releases, push it a bit more towards the front of the machine and lift off panel. It has wires connecting it to the main body so it will not remove completely.
C-Be careful not to lose the springs that simply sit inside of two plastic channels, one under each of the two switches. These are required for your witches to operate properly.
3-Locate screw at bottom of deep rectangular hole now revealed (under former location of black switch panels). Unscrew using Phillips screwdriver. 4-Open hinged top panel. Locate two silver screws, one on each side of main housing. Unscrew using Phillips screwdriver. 5-This will let you lift off the whole top assembly, door and main housing, revealing the plastic chassis and the motor unit within.
You now have access to the motor, wiring connector harnesses, circuit board and the cord reel.
