Question about Canon iR 2016i Black and White Copier

When I switch on my copier I get this sentence: DOWNLAOD STANDBY and it des'nt work

Hello Mustafa,
This could be an ugly situation as your copier has suddenly decided that it needs to load new system software. Why this has happened is not knowable as there are many possibilities. If you have a service contract and a trained tech to come by then YOU NEED HIM/HER as loading new system software should fix the problem. But if you don't (which I assume is the case) then we shall proceed. If you know how to use the REMOTE USER INTERFACE(RUI) then you should use it to back up your settings on the copier by going to "additional functions" and exporting all the settings for your copier and storing your address book, user settings and all other customizations you may have to a folder on your PC because the fix I about to give you will wipe all that out, but it should get rid of your problem. You may also wish (I recommend it) to walk up to the device and go into additional functions and go to "reports" and print out your network configuration as this will go away as well.Ok, we are going to "clear" the memory of your device which will reset everything including the whatever "garbage data" that is causing this message. Lets enter service mode. Press "additional functions" once then press the number 2 and release, then the number 8 and release then additional functions again. You will see the screen change. Use the left or right arrow buttons below the screen to scroll until until you see "CLEAR". Press the ok button between the arrows. Now scroll till you see "ALL". Press "OK". This will totally reset the machine. Depending on what kind of system software exists on the copier you may see please wait but the device will reboot on it's own. After it does, unplug the copier and then plug it back in. This should fix your problem. Now you need to reload the settings by manually doing so. First load your network settings (IP address, subnet mask etc...) and then power off and on again once your network settings have been input. Wait 60 seconds and then you can use the remote user interface to import(restore) the settings you had previously exported so your addresss book and stuff will be restored..This should make everything ok. But I recommend that some time soon you have the most recent version of system software loaded on your device and NO an end user can't do it. How to connect des-1005d


The new model. Just plug it in. No configurations. Any port for any use. The selling point is unmanaged. Look for the problem somewhere else (including the cables) till you are sure it's the switch. Then it needs to be replace.

Only 8 port working . why other ports are not working?


You haven't supplied any detail on exactly what "not working" means. If you get lights when you plug something in but nothing can connect, it may have features such as Vlan enabled. Can you get to the administration console to reset to factory defaults? Otherwise google to find the user manual and perform a factory reset. Here is one link I found:

I interconnect a D-Link DES-10160 with D-Link Gigabit Switch DGS-1024D network and my network becomes slow


connect only DGS -1024D to your network....it will be faster...
because DGS supports 10/100/1000 speed.... but DES supports only 10/100 speed...
connect DGS directly to your network and work with that... if you wish to extend the number of ports then connect the DES to one of the ports of DGS

and dont connect DGS to one of the ports of DES

The drivers wont load because nt 4.0 drivers are not allowed


go here and downlaod the driver for your operating system and if that dont work change the compatibility on the file installer

i think the problem is not on the switch but its in your pc configuration . . please check ur static addresses . . that kind of switch is simple as link or passage way it doesn't matter if you are dynamic or static configured . .

DES-1005 in HUB working mode?


Unfortunately, the DES-1005 can not be configured to behave as hub and send all the packets to your analyzer software.

Do you have a manageable switch available. Most manageable switches have a "port mirroring" or "monitor" function that allows you to copy all the traffic passing through one port to another port...where the wireshark can receive it for analysis.
