I have been unable to retrieve data from my USB. I finally wiggled it around enough to get the light to come on, but the files won't open. Please help.

I have tried it in other ports. I was having a problem tonight with my printer and I had my USB plugged into the front port of my desktop CPU. Apparently I put some undue pressure on it, because the case actually came apart just a bit. I snapped it back together, but now it won't work. In order to get the light to come on, I have to really pull up on the end of it while it's plugged in.

How is the best way to pry it open?

with a thin blade it is glued together.

you have to be careful, maybe take it to a place that can do soldering.

try prying it fron the usb opening first if not then the back of the usb. if it glued together you might to used a little force but you could break it altogether.

They are typically snapped/glued/molded together. Just have to gently pry at the seams.

I forgot my memory card password and brand name is SanDisk it is 4GB

If you did not configure a password hint during installation or if the hint does not assist in remembering your password there is no way to access or recover the data. You're only option is to reformat the drive and then IMMEDIATELY, before you save anything to the drive, use a file recovery program to retrieve your data. Google "free file recovery software" and look for a *reputable* program by reading reviews or using a site like CNet Central.

My card is not detected when put in to the pc it not opened what i do give me any solution. My memory card is sand disk 2gb micro sd card

It would be a good idea to test the memory in another PC, if the problem continues, the SD has a file system that isn't recognized by your operating system or it has a bad file allocation table, if can be read only from a phone, camera or PDA , and it has data, you can use the corresponding device acting as reader connected to PC using its USB cable to retrieve your data from the card.

I'm unable to find some important data stored in my Sandisk micro cruzer. I'm not sure if I accidently deleted it or if it is corrupted. Please suggest if there is a way to recover the files.

If the pen drive is working, the data is there and can be recovered. I think it could be due to virus activity. Some virus make the contents of the drive hidden, thats why user can't see the files and the space available for use is less than the capacity.
It is suggested that go to FOLDER OPTIONS - and select SHOW HIDDEN FILES. It may show the hidden files. Otherwise, you can use any data recovery program to recover the data. Please not that you should not sav/write any data to avoid overwriting the existing data.

Hope this helps!

I deleted all my pictures from my sandisk memory card by mistake. Can it be retrieved?

Don't write any files to that Sandisk. You'll overwrite the deleted files. Are you using Windows to read the files off the Sandisk? I think I used the free tool recover files in the past. ( http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/02/recover-deleted-files-with-ntfs-undelete/ ) . There are many programs to recover deleted files. This is a free one.

Card stopped working... now reads 0 used- 0 available

Hello,

There are a few utilities available on the internet that may be able to recover at least some of your files, even after you tried to format. I have used this program several times to retrieve customer data from damaged memory cards. I hope this helps.
