SOURCE: JBL EON 15 G2 clicks and pops

my son and i fixed an eon a decade ago that had this problem. we swept a sine wave through the audio spectrum and discovered it started barking somewhere around a low D on the piano.
Turns out the mains connection was intermittent right where it enters the eon from the wall. Soldered the ac power connections and the problem went away.

SOURCE: JBL EON15-G2--Does the HF Amplifer to the driver have any voltage?

The 2 leads that come off the HF driver are different sizes...you should only be able to hook them up one way. Takes the guess work out of it for ya.

Assuming there is nothing wrong with the speaker, hooking up the 2418H HF driver to it should do the trick. However, I blew my HF driver a few months ago and bought a new one, only to blow it immediately. This was because the motherboard of the JBL EON G2 had actually failed and caused the HF driver to fail. Once I replaced the motherboard and the HF driver (again) everything was back to sounding great. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: My JBL Eon15 g2 has a cracklin sound within the

it can be the amp or the speaker itself. it has to be diagnosed by a service center.
if the amp is the problem, there can be board replacements or component level repair. if it is the 15" speaker, then it can be reconed with authentic genuine JBL parts returning it to brand new. cathy@speakerex.com

Yes the woofer and tweeter can be replaced but the woofer needs a recone kit to repair as the whole speaker cannot be replaced without replacing half of the speaker enclosure.... call JBL pro or a service center for help.

In turning up volume on eon g2 15 I get crackle sound and then when I mess with switch it finally works. The speaker has been used probably 10 times max. Its not a cord problem..perhaps its the control?

This model has very cheap pots. What really happens is the center pin on the pot breaks leaving the wiper that rides on the carbon track to lift, causing this problem. Use caution as this condition continues the pot will go bad enough to send max volume to the system causing severe damage to the speaker, and maybe the listener. THE GREAT OZ.

from our experience rebuilding woofers once the lead wires get pulled too much or start to strain you have been running too much power into the woofer and making the cone move too far in and out.You need to cut the input signal from your preamp down and cut the volume down on the speaker input on you eon. We keep seeing too many of these amped speakers blown from too much signal.

Open up the unit and clean the gain/volume control using an electronic swithc cleaner spray. Make sure that the cleaner contains a lubricant as well. That should resolve the problem. If not, update this with any changes in behavior.
