Question about Viking VDSC487-6G Kitchen Range

Open Question

When I first purchased this product 4 years ago, the oven was perfect. A couple of weeks ago, I baked bread, cupcakes and a cake and the timing was totally off. I had to add many minutes to make it perfect. I checked to see if it was levelled and it is. Last night, a friend noticed that the door has a bigger gap to the frame on the right hand side. Do I have to call a technician to fix this problem or can I do it myself (my husband)?

SOURCE: My viking oven door has

The door slides onto the two hinges and is held in place with two gravity operated latches. I'm not sure of the condition of your range but it sounds like the door was forced or lifted rapidly allowing the one side to release. The only solution I know of is to remove the other side and reinstall. The hinges have multiple locking positions so the next time you are cleaning your oven, open the door about 8 inches, find the small latches in the door hinge groove, and hold them upwards as you lift the door towards yourself.
The hinges should remain slightly opened. For installation, lower the door onto the hinge posts and pull it outwards slightly.

Bake cake oven

It depends on the size of the cake. I make a syrup sponge cake that contains 4oz flour, 4oz Sugar, 4oz Butter and 2 eggs, with a layer of syrup in the bottom of the microwave bowl. It usually takes 4-5 mins on maximum in my 800W microwave.

Brown cake and burn

Most devices like this are gimmicks. Nothing beats a real oven and and a real cupcake pan, a good recipe a lower temperature and a longer baking time. I always put a thermostat inside the oven to verify that the inside temperature matches the one on the dial, but never assume the dial is even close. Once you become good using an oven you will never go for the gimmick appliances.

Do you have the instructions on how to make the dog cupcakes for pamper your dog from scientific explorer? p9983 and c249.07

my younger sister and i lost the instructions to the pamper your dog kit cupcakes instructions. so we tried this, add the cake mix, 2 eggs and 2 teaspoons of butter. after mixed preheat oven to 355 degrees. don't forget to beat all ingredients for 3 to 4 mins. bake for 15 to 20 mins. we also lost how to do the frosting but haven't figured it out yet. we will post when it pops in our head and works out.

I got a Disney Christmas cupcake set for Christmas from Walgreens but the "cake" recipe directions are not correct. I have 2 small bags of cake mix in the box & it says to add 2 eggs & 4...

Both of my kids got one of these cupcake sets. I called Walgreens customer service on this but they said they were going to have to get an answer from the manufacturer on this and that it might take a couple days to get back to me. A lot of people have been calling this in, I'd suggest you all do the same so the company can see just how many people have been having an issue with this.

Now on to my experimenting! My 5 year old was standing on a stool with all the stuff out ready to go as I was on the phone with customer service. When I couldn't get an answer I couldn't tell my son no any longer so I decided to go ahead and follow the instructions. There's a second kit around here someplace anyway. First off the oven temp converts to 356 deg F, mine would only do 355. I used the two packets in the cake mix box with two eggs and four teaspoons of butter. Let my boy stir then broke out the electric mixer. Once all mixed there was just enough for 12 mini cupcakes. The baking time was off by a lot. 10 minutes was not enough, ended up being more like 25. I took them out when the tops started to look brown. Did the toothpick stick and no cakey bits stuck to it. They end up being spongy but otherwise okay.

As for the icing, use both packets and the 2 tablespoons of water, but you really have to use a mixer on high speed to get it to whip up. We never used the little 1/2 cup measuring cup, the instructions never called for those increments, but it's a cute bonus!

I hope this helps!
