I would suspect the timer itself. These have small button contacts and if they stick
they can pull themselves right off the flat spring. These timer buttons operate off
a cam drum and several of them operate the timer motor itself at various intervals.
The model and serial number is inside the door. and usually there are two
philips head screws to remove at the base of the front control panel. It should hinge back. If not, then the access panel will be on the backside of the control panel.
The timer will be
a plug in type so no issues with miswiring. The knob will either pull off or unscrew
(counterclockwise generally)
and beneath it will be two screws which hold the timer in place.
You can call a local appliance store or order the part online using the model and
serial number. Remember to shut off the breaker and unplug unit before servicing.
Hope this is useful.

After dryer shuts off, timer continues to run. Kenmore model #110.86181810, part # I think is 692032 and sears says it is no longer in stock. Anyone still have one?

I assume you're talking about the buzzer. Many high end dryers do that until you remove the clothes. heated clothes can set wrinkles if kept in the same position for a long time. it's a feature, not a problem, unless it keeps buzzing after you remove the dried clothes!

Dryer wont shut off unless turned off and dryer just tumbles with no heat.

If it won't turn off or heat then it is probably the timer or if it is a newer unit the control board.

The dryer is not heating up and the dial stops at the cool down so the dryer will not shut off by it self. Its a kenmore 70 series dryer.

you need to send the model number, open the door and look around the opening where you put the clothes into the dryer and you'll see the tag with the model number.it will start with 110. or 417.because you have no heat that's why the timer won't advance, when the heat shuts down then the timer advances when the heat comes back on the timer stops moving or advancing,no heat the timer won't move.send the model number

Auto Dry not advancing

It sounds like a timer problem since it happens during timed also. Some dryers don't have an actual moisture sensor for auto dry. They work by knowing that as long as the clothes are wet the temp won't go past a certain point. As the clothes dry it trips a thermostat that lets the timer advance. Until this is fixed DON"T trust the timer to shut off the dryer. Sometimes it won't or could leave the dryer running for hours. This has nothing whatsoever to do with fuses. There are no fuses in a dryer. Just high limit thermostats and other devices that will shut off the heat but usually not the motor.
