I would suspect the timer itself. These have small button contacts and if they stick
they can pull themselves right off the flat spring. These timer buttons operate off
a cam drum and several of them operate the timer motor itself at various intervals.
The model and serial number is inside the door. and usually there are two
philips head screws to remove at the base of the front control panel. It should hinge back. If not, then the access panel will be on the backside of the control panel.
The timer will be
a plug in type so no issues with miswiring. The knob will either pull off or unscrew
(counterclockwise generally)
and beneath it will be two screws which hold the timer in place.
You can call a local appliance store or order the part online using the model and
serial number. Remember to shut off the breaker and unplug unit before servicing.
