I have dell 3300mp,when I turn the power on it makes a very loud noise. It does not make the sound in standby or cool down. It does work and display a signal okay, but it is very loud. Sound like a fan?, but doesn't do it in cool down mode. Thank you.

The main fan that cools the lamp is mostly high speed when the unit is running. when it shuts down it slows the fan down, until it stops in standby. So the noise is only really loud when it is showing a picture.

try setting the fan to eco mode (slower running) and see if the noise is acceptable. If it is still too loud then you will have to replace it. Have a look at the fan and see if any of the plastic blades are missing.

I have a dell 3300MP projector. When starting up the Dell logo is displayed fine. After about 1 minute the unit goes to a solid amber temp light status. Projector display turns off. Unit shows...

Make sure the cooling fan is working and air is reaching the light source, you can hear it running (low whirling noise) when you turn it on, if not that is the problem.

Plugged up came on about 20 minutes later shut down and went to a yellow blinking mode monitor stays yellow i unplug monitor from cpu and works good do you have any suggestions

Could be getting too hot. Make sure all fans, cooling fins, heat sinks, HDD vents and weep holes are unobstructed and clean. Many computers have a BIOS screen at startup that will display system temp. Start it up and enter the BIOS, check CPU temp. Most PC's will shutdowm or reboot if temp exceeds 140 (this can be adjusted).

If not overheating, could be fault in a memory module, HDD failure, or CPU itself. But that's not that common in the scenario you're talkin about

Cooling fan

Yes. It can be replaced. Try to check which fan is making that sound. Do you have a laptop or a PC? On a PC, there are 3 standard fans inside it. one for the CPU, one for the power supply and one for the computer casing fan as well. It depends on which of those fans it's coming from. On a laptop, some laptops' fans actually makes a loud noise which is common but there is a way that it could be lessened but it might slow down your pc and it might overheat it as well. The loud noise on the fans of a laptop actually indicates that it's trying to cool down the system. If it doesn't stop the loud noise, it could indicate a problem switching the fans back to normal and would just continue to spin fast. Try to contact your PC tech for further diagnostics on the laptops fan to indicate if the problem is with the fan or the mainboard as well.

No lit / projected image even with a new bulb!

Let me add...

I had one 3300MP and removed/replaced the bulb to dust off as it was overheating. There is a small metal like switch that resets the bulb replacement (physical switch - take a good look) -- This helped to reset the first time I did this, but doesn't reset the hours on the chip.

However, since this bulb was problematic for me, I have done this a couple of times and since has stopped powering the bulb now. So, thinking it was the bulb, I replaced the bulb, -- No good... So, thinking it was the projector, I bought a new/refurbished one on ebay -- tested the NEW bulb - NO GOOD. now I have TWO PROJECTORS, THREE BULBS and NOTHING THAT WORKS...

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
