Code e on only two of the right hand zones on siemens induction hob

These codes mean that the oven's electronic control hasdetected a condition it needs to check which mean error. When you see a code, follow these steps to solve the problem:
  • Press "Stop/Clear" to clear the display and stop the beeping.
  • Reprogram the oven.
  • If the code still displays, turn off the power to the oven at your breaker box and wait five minutes before turning it back on.

The fault is on the PC board, capacitor C17. It can be replaced if you are handy with these things. Remove the hob and dismantle it to gain access to the PC board without turning it upside down. There are several screws which have to be removed, there are 13 spade connectors on the PC board, label these and remove them carefully. The capacitor has to be un-soldered and the new one fitted with the polarity the right way around. If this is not within your capabilities and you do not have the correct tools, have someone do it for you for a few dollars. A call-out for this fault could run into the $400 bracket and the part costs about $1.50.

I have a cata ceramic hob. the child lock has been engaged & is restricting operation of any of the 4 hob's

When you turn on the hobs main power, press the the rear left hand element pad at the same time and the lock will come off.

press the centre minus button and the bottom right plus button at the same time it will work if not keep trying
You have to hold down the centre sensor button with the minus on and the sensor which turns on the bottom right ring immediatley after turning the hob on. It should unlock, then press the minus again
the hob switchs off
when you now switch on there will be no lock

I have a Brandt induction cooktop and 2 hotplates don't work at all and the other 2 now don't appear to be connecting with the saucepan. Heat light starts to flash then turns off completely. Unable to...

Sounds like a wiring problem, take off of course with no power and check it out. No harm if no power, and replace wire and or componet with same.

I live in spain I have purchased a zanussi hob ZVT64BV and it has 4 electrical wires blue, black, brown and green/yellow why is this and how do I wire it up?

That's a H05BB-F two-phase cable - - and it's not intended for you to wired it up by yourself. There is of course a way, but the circuit has to be assessed for viability by a qualified electrician beforehand. The reason there's a two phase connection is that the current to the induction coil COULD be too much for a normal cable.

If that's the case, your kitchen circuit would become a fire hazard - the fuses would not blow, the differential wouldn't trigger, but the cable in the wall and behind your other appliances and furniture might catch fire.
