Question about Echo Zama Carb Kit For Shc210 For Rbk66b Rbk70 Carb

Echo trimmer wont run warmed up, rebuilt carb, thoroughly cleaned it and used all the new parts in the kit, except for what looks like a jet, much larger hole than the original jet, fearing I couldnt get the old one out without ruining it I left it, but it is clear and unobstructed as best I can tell. adjusted meter arm to flush with gasket plain as directed by the zama online manual for RB carbs Stalls instantly when started in full choke, then runs well on half choke, for about 10 minutes then quits suddenly, wont start again till it cools, wont run in full open choke at all. It will depend on what type of carburetor you have. You can go to this website and enter your model and it should give you the correct settings. If you cannot find the info, start with each about 1 1/2 turns out and go from there. A little hit and miss and you will figure the correct setting. When setting the high speed, you want to hold the throttle wide open and slowly adjust the screw. It will suddenly start to run very smoothly, and that's a good setting for the high speed.

Its a longshot but I had a problem with my hedge trimmer, it kept cutting out when idling.
It turned out that a clutch spring was broken so the clutch shoes had nothing to restrain them and would fly out and make contact with the clutch drum and stall the machine.
Air locks in the fuel lines will also cause this symptom. These can be caused by running the machine with low fuel level in the tank and cutting upside down or at a sharp angle.

Why wont my homelite string trimmer start. It has spark and gas and air.


Something could be keeping it from getting the right mix of air and gas. It could be a crack in one of the fuel lines or primer bulb. Maybe the carb needs rebuilt. I made some videos on how to do all that. I got all my parts form Home Depot, except the carb rebuild kit I got from Amazon. Hope this helps.

Make sure you rebuilt the carb with a carb kit. Put a hose on each pipe coming out of the carb and blow and suck on them. One should seal completely and one should provide vacuum. If there is a leak, you need new check valves. If you rotate the trimmer and it runs poorly, you may have a pierced diaphragm.

Ryobi 765R string trimmer. Engine is starving for gas. Fuel line is flowing and primer bulb has been replaced. Engine will run for a few seconds with ether sprayed into the carb. Trimmer is 3 years old...


On muffler there is a screen located on bottom of muffler remove the two small screws in cover, remove screen and clean thoroughly. If this does not fix check price of rebuild kit for carburetor or check price of new carb. If new is within $5 of kit buy new and replace or rebuild carb.

I've noticed the Echos are cold-blooded and a decent warm-up time is required. You indicate the fuel mixture has to be somewhat rich to keep the engine running. This indicates the needle jets need tweaking to acquire the proper mix (if applicable) or else the fuel pump diaghram is not functioning properly and needs replacement according to the symptoms.

Unable to adjust carburetor after overhauling, engine idle


most modern carbies have fixed jets.some you can pry off the caps and adjust,but usually if you need to adjust carbie,youve got other problems.stale fuel,not enough compression,vaccuum leak,spark plug faulty[oiled up]carb gaskets letting in air,needle valve adjustment causing diapragm to not open it enough.used the wrong gaskets in the kit[sometimes they have different model gaskets in one kit

Echo weed trimmer only run with choke half on


Check the fuel lines for breaks. When they get old, they become brittle.

If this doesn't work, you will need to clean the carburetor. Disassemble the carb. and spray with carb. cleaner. Use a Den Tek Brush,(http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152), to clean the small portals in the carb. Make sure the small screen is free of debris. Reassemble and start.

If neither one of these solutions work then you will need to buy a carb. kit and replace all appropriate parts.

sounds like the main jets are partly pluged, you must remve all brass jets and seats including needle jet and its slide soak in carb cleaner and blow out with compressed air only.. hold up to bright light to verify if all are clean. jim
