How to get rid of lice on small birds

No idea of your country but a 20Second google search revealed this;
To remove lice, it is recommended to use a mild pet insecticide, such as "Nuvan." After spraying the plumage, wait for 2 - 3 minutes and then gently ruffle the feathers over a white tray or plastic sheet to collect the lice which fall from the feathers.
I found that one great way to remove lice and mites from your birds is to sprinkle Sevin Garden dust under their wings and tail, and on the back. Check the birds the next day and if there are still lice present, repeat the process, as needed. I found Sevin dust [active ingredient: Carbaryl (1-napthyl N-methylcarbamate)] equally effective in getting rid of red mites.
Avian Insect Liquidator is another way to get rid of mites, lice and other insects in the birds' environment. This all-purpose insecticide from Vetafarm contains a water-based insecticide that is harmless to birds but effective against insects.
Prevention:
Sanitize and treat the birds' environment (cages, perches, aviaries, nesting areas, etc.). Secondly, allow your birds to bathe daily. Most birds enjoy doing so and if you provide them with a shallow clean dish, they will usually be happy to bathe without encouragement. Some birds like to be misted, or even sprayed. Sprinkling Sevin dust underneath nest bowls and around nests will eliminate all kinds of insects.

The motion sensor on my 5 foot singing dancing Gemmy pirate skeleton isn't working. Where is the sensor located, and how do I fix it?

De-pant the skeleton and took a look down there in the foot where the inputs are. There should be a small circuit board. The proximity sensor is on a pair of green wires, yellow wires connected to the manual activation switch, connections to the various motors and the speakers up in the body, and a pair of long green wires that seem to be jumpered together. It's the proximity sensor that's likely at fault. Check to see if there is anything blocking the sensor. If nothing is blocking, check for loose or broken wires to it. Otherwise, you could remove the sensor and try to match it up at an electronics store and install a new one.

How do I adjust a Honeywell motion sensor from a straight beam to a wider spectrum?

there should be 2 small adjusting screws on the unit. One adjust what you want and the other adjust when the light or sensor works.

As per request. re: reset/fix indoor motion detector.

on all the Honeywell or Ademco wireless motion detectors I have worked on the light will not come on with the cover in place, it is set that way to conserve battery life. If you want to be sure it is working properly arm your system and wait at least 4 minutes before walking in front of he motion then walk in front of it and see if it trips the alarm.

In regards to bird cages, why is bar spacing so important? As long as the bird cannot fly out, then why does it really matter?

Inappropriate bar spacing can ultimately lead to injuring your bird. A cage where the bar spacing is too large could be hazardous to your bird, while a small distance between spacing will limit your birds view and also your view of your bird.

What size cage should I buy for my budgies?

Even though budgies are quite small, they are very active and need space to fly around and exercise. Budgies need a minimum cage size of 18"x18"x24". Here is a sizing chart that should answer any questions regarding bird species and cage size, along with particular suggested brands of cages to buy.

If I want to put out bird seed as a treat for the birds, how do I hang it? I don't want to use a table, I want to hang it from the trees.

There are recipes for homemade bird seed treats that involve suet or some other sticking agent that keeps it together so you can hang it in a lump. But I came across a very cute web posting with a recipe for a bird seed treat that is heart shaped! Check out this link http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/activities/crafts/wild-bird-treat/
