First access the modem with the default ip addy. maybe 192.168.1.*
(*=1,2,3,4... 254)

From home screen click wireless - in wireless setting you would not be able to see the KEY if wireless is disabled thus enable it by checking the box. Your wep key would be displayed in the smaller window at the bottom.

How do I find the SSID so I can set up my new wireless printer?

Most new modem/routers come with a pre-set SSID & password. They are generally located on a label on the rear or underside of the unit.

In the even that yours is not "broadcasting" it's SSID, you'll need to access the modem/router web interface (a webpage) & verify or tick the box which activates broadcast of the network name (SSID).

You can Google for your brand of modem/router to find it's default web address (usually begins something like 192.168....) and username/password. Type that number into the address bar of any browser, input the default user/PW, & access the modem/router's settings. From there, you'll look for the settings page which talks about the network/wireless.

Good luck!

My WII is saying unable to find access point please confirm SSID. What does that mean

Dear Friend,
First, you need to identified you wireless name from your wireless modem such as "HOME-229". Then after identifying the right SSID (service set identifier), enter the name in your WII follow by the right password out of your Wireless Modem. Also, make sure that your SSID in your wireless modem is broadcasting and not hiding. Some devices will simple not access online if the SSID is not broadcasting.

Good Luck!

Need to find SSID

Look on the side or bottom of the modem/router. Generally there is a white label with SSID and password. The SSID is generally set to 'broadcast,' so doing a network scan on your tablet should come up with the SSID on a list, but if that is not the case, or if you pick up multiple SSIDs (as in an apartment building or condo), then check the label. You will have to check the label for the password, anyway. Have fun!

How to change the SSID & Password on Belkin.122 wireless router.

Grandkids should see SSID on their computer if it is being broadcast by your modem ( you probably have modem/ router) if they don't see SSID , your modem may have broadcast SSID set to off. If they can see it, have them enter your password. Passwords are case sensative .

I need my ssid

The Motorola SB5101 does not offer wireless connectivity. Because there is no WiFi - all wireless variables such as security settings, channels, SSID, etc. are not applicable.

I hope this helps!

What is my SSID number?

The SSID is the name of your wireless network. You should already know that. If not, contact your ISP and they can remotely log into it and tell you.

Trying to hook up my son's ds lite to my wi fi through my rca modem. What is the ssid and any other info i will need to do this

Thanks for your question,

Most cable modes do not have routers built in. I would purchase a router if I would you. Cable modems are direct connections, so there would not be any SSID.

Can we have the modems modle number, as most cable modems you need to purchase a router for.

Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at

I have a Arris TM722 modem and I need to know my SSID number and password? please help me!

An SSID is the name of your wireless network connection and doesn't have to be a number. As I don't believe that this modem supports wireless connectivity, it should not prompt you for an SSID or a password. If the modem is plugged into a wireless router however, and a wireless network has been set up, the SSID will be related to the wireless router.

Generally most devices can scan for the SSID when attempting to connect to a wireless connection. If there is an "automatic" setting or a "find networks" button, you can try that and choose your wireless connection from the list provided. For a password, you may need to ask whomever helped set up your wireless network.

The SSID is the name you created for your wireless or wired network, while the security key is the password you created. They are not written on the modem unless you placed them there yourself. Modems / routers do have information on stickers on the bottom though, if you require any of that information.

How do i find my network key?

If your "modem" is a "combination" device, namely a modem and a wireless router, then you need to connect to it, to define:
* SSID -- the "name" for your wireless network
* encryption-level -- use 'WPA', not 'WEP'
* password for your network.

Then, on your wireless device (iPod Touch? laptop?) use the SSID/password to connect.

If your modem is "just" a modem, then you need a separate wireless-router, which must be configured, as above.
