Question about Craftsman 42 in. Deck 19.5hp Lawn Tractor

1 Answer

I have a 42 inch cut riding lawnmower i just replaced the battery and oil change but as you turn the key the engine acts as if it will start with about 5 to 6 quick revolutions and then stops, almost like it has a back lash. it acts like it has some drag. the spark plug is good along with all connections are tight.

Jump it with your vehicle, crank it until the mower starts, let it run, mow with it and it should fix your problem. Good Luck Tim

Replace the battery. Even though the battery may say it's good, it doesn't have enough of cranking amps. Go purchase a battery with 350 cranking amps. This will fix your problem. The battery power isn't enough to kick the starter completely up to turn the engine.
