If the notebook is working fine otherthan the noise comming from the notebook, then you can try to download ans install the latest BIOS update for your notebook.
If you contact HP support with your notebook serial and product numbers, they can provide the BIOS update download link.
If the notebook is not working at all, I mean if there is no display on the notebook, then you have to try power drain.
Here are the steps to do power drain:
Try doing power drain by taking out the battery & keep holding down the power button for complete one minute to drain out the power from the computer components. Restart the computer after putting the battery in.
Try restarting the computer only with the AC power, without the battery & vice-versa.
If there is no display at all even after power drain then you can try remove and reseat the memory module (RAM)of your notebook. You can get manual on how to reseat the manula from HP.
As I said before, if the notebook is working fine otherthan the noise you have to get the BIOS update from HP.
There is free chat support from HP to get the BIOS update.
If you want to check if the sound the comming from the harddrive, then you can check the Harddrive from BIOS.
In BIOS you can find this option. If you want to know how to open the BIOS, then get back to me with the exact model number of your notebook, so that I can help you.
