I have a Verifone vx570 and it will not print it makes a click then the green light flashes. can this be fixed

if the terminal is not printing at all and you can hear the printing mechanism moving there might be a way to get it to print. it will require you to check to see if you are using correct paper. thermal paper is required and it has to be credit card machine paper not calculator paper etc. scratch the paper and if a faint black line appears you have thermal paper. check the door to the terminal. is there anything in the little hole where you can see the cog/sprocket mechanisms? is the roller on the door in tact? there should be only one sprocket on the roller. then there should be a little nut on the end of each of the ends of the roller.
you can take canned air and clean the roller and in the hole to make sure nothing is in it causing it not to move the paper. make sure when you load the paper you are not trying to feed the paper through the roller in any way. simply place the paper with the tail side down in the terminal and pull the tail of paper allowing you to close the door on the paper. the paper should be feeding from the bottom of the roll and not pulling from the top.
if these do not work for you call your merchant services provider for assistance incase you have transactions in your terminal you don't want to risk losing those.

My printer wont recognize paper

Remove all of the paper from the tray and shine a flashlight into the printer. Look for any torn pieces of paper or other debris that could be blocking the paper sensor.

Pull the paper guides back as far as they will go, then reload the paper tray. Push the paper guides until they are tight against the paper on all sides. If the paper guides are loose or not properly adjusted, the printer may not sense that the paper is in place.

Look inside the printer if you have a unit with a single paper tray. Locate the print rollers, then look for a small plastic flag that moves up and down when the paper feeds into the printer. Jiggle this paper flag until it moves freely. If the paper flag is out of place the printer may not recognize that there is paper in the tray.

Pull each tray out of the printer carefully if you have a unit with multiple trays. Find the print rollers and the paper flag. Jiggle the paper flag until it moves up and down freely, then replace the tray.

Hi, I am trying to print with my HP LaserJet 3390 and it says 'No paper pickup'. Can you help? Regards, Peter G.

Try to perform the following steps in the mentioned order:

1. Verify that the media was inserted far enough into the input tray. In tray 2 (HP LaserJet 3390/3392 all-in-one), verify that the paper-length guide is in the correct position for the media size that you are using.

2. Reload the media in the input tray and press c00597632.gif to continue the job.

Printer light for paper jam comes on. I've tried to do everything to fix this! There is no paper in it! HELP, I need my printer!

You may not be able to see the piece of paper that is jammed in the rollers as they may be hidden from view. Some printers HP Photosmart have a removable panel on the back side of the printer that allows you to get to the rollers. The paper may be just a small piece blocking the paper sensor, or it may be a crumpled up sheet that is partially hidden by the rollers. Other printers may requirw you to remove the outside case in order to get to the rollers. Look closely at your printer and determine the best way to get a view of all the rollers, but the paper sensor is being blocked.

Printer keeps saying paper jam when it as not

If you open and close the front door and hear the rollers turn, then the rollers are dirty or need replacement. Try removing the drum and cleaning the roller with mild detergent or soapy water, Don't use alcohol. If this doesn't work you may need the pickup roller and separation pads replaced.

If you open and close the front door and nothing tries to run and the jam message is still displayed then you have a dirty, blocked, or faulty paper switch. Most switches are small pieces of plastic that stick up and swing down as paper passes over them. Check your paper path and make sure the switches don't have any damage, knocked out of place, have dirt/dust build up, or torn paper on them.

It stopped faxing through the feeder and said feeder errror. its a HP j4680 all in one office jet

Hello, Brittany.

Give this a try (from HP Support):

Complete the following steps to check the condition of the paper, reload the original, and then open and close the Automatic Document Feeder cover.

The main reason for this issue is that the ADF rollers that pick up the papers might not grip the paper because dirt sticks to the rollers.

Step One: Check the paper and reload the original
The condition of the paper, or the amount of paper, might prevent the ADF from picking it up and feeding it through the product.

1. Make sure that the ADF tray contains fewer than 25 sheets of paper.
2. Make sure that the ADF tray contains no photo paper or carbon paper.
3. Make sure the paper in the ADF tray meets the following criteria:
* No curls, folds, creases, or tears
* No staples or clips attached
NOTE: Folded paper, torn paper, or paper with rough edges might not feed correctly. If your original is folded or damaged, either reprint the original or try to smooth out the damaged portions.
4. Reload your original, with the print side up, into the ADF tray. Place the pages so that the top edge of the document goes in first. Slide the paper into the ADF tray until you hear a beep or see a message on the display indicating that the loaded pages are detected.

* If still a problem, go to the next step.

Step Two: Open and close the ADF cover
NOTE: Remove all originals from the ADF tray before you open the ADF cover.

1. Open the ADF cover, and then close it again.
2. Press the OK button.

* If still a problem, go to the next step.

Follow these steps to turn the product off and then on again.

1. Press the Power button to turn off the product.
2. Wait 15 seconds.
3. Press the Power button to turn on the product.

Hope this helps.

I have a Brother Intellifax 4100 Fax machine. I may have pulled the paper cathrudge out to abruptly because a 3/4 spring was dislodged from somewhere - I have not identified where it belongs. As a...

best guess is it belongs under the paper lift plate in your paper tray, remove the paper tray and all the paper, there should be a metal paper lift plate in the paper tray, these are typically spring loaded to lift the paper into place. lift the plate and check the underside for the location of the spring, there is usually a retainer of some sort to hold the spring in place. once the spring is in place the tray should feed correctly.

Hope this is of some help.

Paper won't feed, HP printer dock series 3

I had this problem (among many others with my printer). I found that just cleaning the front roller with a damp paper towel fixed it. Wipe it carefully and let it dry before reloading the paper. The rubber on the roller seems to lose it's ability to pick up the paper if it sits unused for any length of time, so wiping it with warm water and drying it works. Good luck. Lynette

Paper feed rolls is rolling over the paper...how to get access to those rolls

  1. Feed the paper manually into the printer:
    1. Place a sheet of plain A4 paper in the paper feed tray.
    2. Move the paper support on the left-hand side to the left end of the paper.
    3. Press the paper feed button.
    4. If the paper does not feed, continue with step 2.
  2. Check for any obstructions in the paper feed path:
    1. Disconnect the cables from the back of the printer.
    2. Open the front of the printer and check for anything that may be blocking the paper path.
    3. Close the front lid and remove any paper from the paper feed tray.
    4. Holding the printer in both hands, turn it upside down to see if anything falls out of the paper feed area. (Sometimes objects such as pens, paper clips and so on can fall into the paper feed area and cause blockages.)

You can clean with special cleaning paper which ca be used clean the rollers............
