Question about Black & Decker 19" Electric Lawnhog Mulching Mower with Rear Bag

1 Answer

I have an MM 275 18" Electric Lawn Mower. This is the 4th summer I have used it and I love it. However, the lever is not working properly. I have to hold it in the corner very tightly to keep it running. It seems like it is getting worse. What can be done? Where can I take it to get it fixed? Thank you, Mrs. Price

Well its a easy fix if thats what you wanna hear.

usually in the housing the wires try to disconnect from the lever and makes it harder to connect.

I have found over the years over a dozen electric mowers that its just the wiring coming loose.

call mr.fixit or find someone to manage to take the handle apart and put it back together again after.

Just what does an electric clutch do

The electric clutch on a lawn tractor or zero-turn mower turns on the mower deck. Instead of a lever that you pull to start the blades, you pull a red knob.

The advantage of an electric clutch is the belts stay tensioned all the time and the belts should last longer.

Black & decker MM 850 Electric Lawn mower/mulcher. Upon start up, there is major vibration. No way I can run it like this..

Try removing the blade. If the mower runs smooth, replace or balance it.
If not, the mower shaft may be bent. Did you hit something hard with the blade?

We have a 48" 23 hp poulan pro riding mower, our problem is the drive belt from the engine to the deck is always breaking, this is the 4th one we bought this summer. what could be the problem

More than likely, you are using a automotive belt not a "V" belt. Automotive belts are pretty tuff but can not stand up to the beating a mower takes. Go to your mower place and get the proper size "V" belt for your Poulan. Make sure it is both the proper size and a quality belt. I recommend "Gates" belts.

When you start your mower, start it with the engine at slow speed, to lessen the shock that the belts and clutches take.

I have the EXACT same problem with my mower. I called the Black & Decker number listed above, and learned that the mower is under recall for this problem. So call them and find out where the nearest dealer is, and they will fix it for free.

Why not let Black & Decker dealer service take care of if for you?

I have used their service on my 14-year old Black & Decker mower on the few occasions that I needed repairs and paid a very small price.
