SOURCE: intex pool filter/ pump just stopped working

Try giving your pump more air circulation.
Turn off pump when not around it.(should only need to run for around 3 - 4 hours on a small (kid) pool 6 - 8 hours for standard house pool
You could put you pump on a timmer - set shut off time to just before you pump shuts down.
Check you pump (when not conected to mains power) - get some WD40 into it - (salt and metal no like each other)

SOURCE: pool heat pump won't keep running

It is likely that you have a low refrigerant condition and require an HVAC person to service the unit. It's not unusual to need "freon" every so often. Call the repair man...

SOURCE: my pump will stop and restart a few minutes later

With these pool pumps, it is probably either that you are getting air pockets or leaks in the suction line or your pump strainer is clogged.

Sand coming into pool when set on filter and when back wash and rinse? How do I stop this?

Sand can be sent to the pool for several reasons. If it is piped in reverse, if the laterals, their manifold, pipes connected to the manifold is damaged or there is a problem in the backwash valve. The water from the filter enters the filter above the sand where it soaks through the sand, through the laterals and out the return pipe to the filter. If the water is flowing from the pool into the laterals and through the sand and into the pool some sand will go with the water into the pool. In addition, the laterals will get filled with dirt from the pool. The best way to know if there is a damaged lateral, manifold or pipe is to remove most of the sand and inspect these parts. After the filter is worked on, If some sand was in the laterals, manifold or pipes when a system is started it should be sent into the pool and find can then be brushed into the main drain and be caught in the filter. I hope this helps.

Why is sand shooting back into pool

Inside the sand filter there are laterals that are PVC pipes with many narrow slots along their length. If a lateral is broken then sand will not be stopped by the lateral. Another possibility is that the part these laterals screw into is broken and sand leaks through. I hope this helps.

SAND SHOOTS INTO POOL

Probably a broken or loose lateral in the bottom of the filter. Do you backwash a lot? One thing you might try if the lateral isn't too damaged is let it run for a day, vacuum the sand out of the pool and see if it stops. If this works, good. But the next time you backwash, you will have to do it again

My pump works for a little while then it stops for no reason. We can't get to start, it is hot. A few hours later, it will start again but only for a couple of hours.

Something is causing it to overheat; the shut off is automatic and is saving the pump from burning up. The pump may be failing or there is something overloading it causing the heat.

Try to make sure it is clean and free of any blockages not allowing air to flow around it.

Otherwise, plan on a new pump soon.
