Whilst Fidoliedo is techincally correct, you can try another method. If you have a wooden bench or bench with a lip?
Place the back of the watch on it and gently 'snap' a corner in whilst holding the other 3 with parts of your fingers. Rotate your hands to the other corner and try again until it 'snaps' securely. if this doesn't work then you will need to seek out a watchmaker for a casepress to purchase (or as them if they'll do it - a fee may apply)

Most watches have one of three types of rear cover. Push On, Screw On and Screw Down. The easiest way to tell is to look closely at the actual back cover. The batteries in some watches are held down with a spring loaded cover you unclip to access the
battery.
A totally smooth back cover suggests a Push On type. On the edge there should be a groove or a notch. Use a thin edged tool to lever off the cover with a firm but gently action. Once you have replaced the battery the cover should push on and click once in place.
If it has regular notches or dimples around the edge of the cover the whole cover will need to be unscrewed, the 'Screw On' type. The whole cover needs to turn like a bolt head. This often needs a specialist tool to do it.
The last type is a rear plate held down with four tiny screws. This is normally most common on 'Sport' watches.
To remove the battery from the back of an Oasis watch, you will need a small flathead screwdriver or a coin.
Locate the battery cover on the back of the watch. It is typically located at the 6 o'clock position.
Insert the screwdriver or coin into the notch on the battery cover.
Gently pry the battery cover off of the watch.
Remove the battery from the watch.
If you are replacing the battery, insert the new battery into the watch, making sure that it is oriented correctly.
Replace the battery cover by aligning it with the watch and pressing it into place.
If you are having trouble removing the battery cover or if the watch has a different type of back, you may need to refer to the manufacturer's instructions or consult a professional watch repair service. It is important to handle the watch carefully to avoid damaging it.

mcdevito75 here, This is a piece of plastic is used betwen the battery and the back cover of the watch as without the plastic there is a small gap between the battery and the back cover, meaning the battery could come loose in the watch even with the back cover on the watch, replace this plastic piece with some carefully folded Scotch Tape, cut and shape the Scotch tape to Approx. the same size and thicknesss of this piece of plastic or just by sight thick enough to keep the battery in place in the watch with the back cover on.
Hello,
1. Lay the watch upside down on top of a towel or cloth on a
flat workspace. Use a small flat head screwdriver or blade to pry under the watch
backing, then lift the backing from the watch. Slide the battery cover to the
side to access and remove the battery.
2.Take the battery to any electronics store to purchase a
replacement. Bringing the old battery will ensure you install the correct type
of battery in your Fossil watch.
3. Replace the battery and the battery cover. Apply pressure to
the backing until it "pops" back into the watch. THANK YOU FOR VISITING FIXYA
mcdevito75 here, Depending on your watch itself, Basically you"d remove the back cover, then release any hold down linkages on the battery, then replace the battery, hold down linkages and cover. The BEST BET is to look for a small watch repair shop in your area for this battery replacement as it may take special jewelers screwdrivers to change the battery.
do you mean you want to replace the battery for your watch?
This isn't a difficult task to carry out. Simply get a small flat screw driver, use the screw driver to open the back cover of the watch, then you will see the battery of your watch. Remove the battery and replace with a new batter, cover back the watch and that's all.
Note that you will apply force with the screw driver when you are trying to open the back cover of the watch.
As a certified watch repair tech. I would not recomend changing your own battery. If you can get the back off there is a big chance that you will have difficulty getting the back back on. These watches are meant to be water resistance up to whatever level. When the case is open the seal is broken and needs to be either replaced or silicone needs to be added. This insures that your watch stays water reisitant and now that it is sealed the battery can have a longer life expectancy.
where do I get the special tool?
