Wolf wall oven error message: RTD Open

RTD is resistence tempature detector. The oven is telling you that the tempature probe circuit is open. The temapture probe may have been damaged due to the self-cleaning cycle or it could just be the wiring harness is loose. You will need to remove the tempature probe and test it with a ohm meter. The average reading should be aroun 1200 ohms at room tempature. If it is testing open or the ohm reading is way off then you will need to replace the tempature probe. If it is testing good then it could be aproblem with the control board.

Gas self cleaning 30 range. In bake mode does not heat as hot as before, takes longer to bake items.

  • When the item takes far too long to finish, you probably have a weak bake igniter. Often, you need to replace the igniter, but you may want to troubleshoot the oven's electrical system further to more precisely locate the defect.

  • When the temperature is consistent but too high or too low, the oven thermostat or sensor is either mis-calibrated or defective. If your oven uses an electronic temperature-regulating device, you may have an electric sensor in the oven instead of a mechanical thermostat. If the oven temperature is off by 30 to 40 degrees in this type of unit, you must replace the sensor.

On many units with a mechanical thermostat, you can remove the thermostat knob and adjust the knob itself to more accurately represent the actual setting of the thermostat. If, when you remove the knob, there's a screw on the back of it with a small calibration plate, you can loosen the screw, adjust the plate, then tighten the screw again. If the knob isn't adjustable, and the oven temperature is off by more than 30 to 40 degrees, you need to replace the thermostat to solve the problem.

Glow bar comes on but oven ignites 20-30 minutes later

The easiest way to check the ignitor is to observe it. Remove the small access panel in front, select a high temperature setting and start the dryer. Watch the burner assembly, shortly after starting the dryer the ignitor should begin to glow or spark. If you see it glow or spark, then the ignitor is working. If the ignitor did not appear to function and it is the spark type, it may be out of adjustment which generally requires professional service or it may require replacement. If the ignitor is the glow type, you can test it for resistance with a multimeter.

The ignitor has two wires connected to it.Label the wires and connections so that you can properly reconnect them later. The wires are connected with slip on connectors. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire itself). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If either is corroded they should be cleaned or replaced.

Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. Touch one probe to each terminal. You should get a reading anywhere between 50 and 600 ohms. If you get a reading of zero or infinity, the ignitor is definitely bad and will need to be replaced.

(((If the ignitor is optimal, this will confirm a faulty set of coils. replace them all if this is the case))).

Maybe. Sometimes these units have small throttle valves near the pilot. If it adjusts...make sure it is about 1/2 inch long....you don't want it blowing out.
