Pre-wash may be compromised and a new power circuit board may be needed.
My advice: As long as the other cycles are accurate and work as usual; Pre-wash in your sink (spray off waste material) before you place the dishes in the washer and commence cleaning. Its best to wash off food and other material before washing in the machine to avoid clogging the drains and pump.
For Bosch Dishwasher Ascenta models, open the door to reset it. Hold the Start-Reset button for about 5 seconds or until the Active indicator turns off. Shut the door of the dishwasher to allow it to thoroughly drain before turning it off.
This should reset the cycle drain.

If the cycle is complete and dishes are clean, then you need to worry. Try to pull the drain hose up a bit under the sink. Also buy a Finish dishwasher cleaning kit and run dishwasher as per instructions on the kit. That should clean any obsrtuctions in the drain side.
If you suspect the dish washer, try discharging the drain in a bucket. After the drain cycle check the wash tub. If water is still left, you have to clean the drain filter attached to the bottom. Refer user guide.
The final drain end of the dish washer where you discharge, the fixing junction has to be cleaned, incase it is clogged.
Problem solved, the dishwasher starts its wash cycle with a drain sequence, the pan did not drain in time for the wash cycle to continue , thererfor locking it out on inlet/drain alarm. I removed the drain hose from the S trap, then the non-return valve from the filter basket, made sure the drain pump impelar was free, blew down the drain hose back into dishwasher to clear any waste in the pipe, then found a block in the S trap orifis, after clearing that, reasembled and test run on cold pre wash cycle this runs for aprox 10 min.customer was very happy.
