    Please check the
connection to motor and if that is fine then replacing the panel is recommended
repair. You can also refer to these pictures. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Why does dryer spin with door open?

Hi Mandy,

The fact that the light bulb is out *and* the drum continues to spin when the door is opened - all point to a faulty door switch.

This switch tells the machine the "status" of the door position. When the door is open, it turns on the light *and* stops / prevents the drum from starting. When closed, the light is shut off *and* the drum is permitted to spin. You should have the switch serviced as if a wire came loose it adds a potential shock hazard - in addition to the safety issue of placing hands into a spinning drum.

You have a faulty door switch. Here is the replacement switch.
There is a video on that same parts page to show you how to replace it.

My dryer heats and dries, but when i open the door the drum doesn't stop nor does the light come on. We've changed the bulb...not the problem with the light. Also was squeekin quite a bit..now...

as far as the drum not stopping when door is opened that will be a bad door switch
the noise could be anything from a drum support roller to a blower wheel, the bearing on the motor, the rear drum bearing or even something such asa coin caught between the drum felt seal and the drum
nosies a hard to diagnose online since they dont sound the same in written form

I have a 2 year old Kenmore HE3 electric Dryer. Model 110.8708. The drum light never worked. I opened up the door and found a broken bulb. I replaced the bulb. the light stays on all the time,...

the door switch has something wrong with it,it's keeping the bulb on all the time and that's why it burnt out the first time, also you're missing the last four numbers on the model number

Where is the light bulb located ?

what model # ? most are inside the drum area - put head in (with machine off) and look around for a plastic cover. behind that is the dead bulb.

Dim bulb, copies nearly black, but prints fine

The dim bulb is your clue. The more light that is reflected on the Selenium drum, the more the drum is demagnatized and less able to attract the toner. The printer now thinks you're running really dark stuff through it because there is not much light to reflect off of your original documents. See why the bulb is so dim. Good luck.
