Question about Canon GL2 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

I am trying to put my GL2 in 16:9 mode but the menu item is in pink and won't let me select it...what do I do?

Make sure you have the camcorder set to record on the dvd, since you can't go into the 16:9 mode when recording to the memory card- at least that's the way it was on one of my camcorders.
If you already have the dvd selected, you might be experiencing a faulty switch pad or similar problem, in which case the unit will have to be serviced. You can take it into a local camera repair shop, or contact Canon. Here's their support site:

If you're not sure of the menu settings that will allow 16:9 mode, refer to your manual. If you take it into a camera shop, they should be able to assist you if it's just a setting, or verify if there's a different problem.

Clear/stop 1, 0, 7 color start does not work


Each menu is classified into two "Modes" depending on how you enter the service menus.

"Menu Mode" can be executed by pushing a sequence of keys.

"Special Mode" can be executed if you press certain keys at the same time as you turn the power on.

Each menu is classified as follows:
Menu Mode
Maintenance Mode Menu This is a menu for maintenance and service.

Special Mode
Fax Service Test Menu This is a menu for checking the fax mode.

MAINTENANCE MODE MENU

Selecting an Item

To select an item, press the "Up" or "Down" key.


Going into the Next Level/ Returning to the Previous Level

For clear SC 543 Enter the engine maintenance mode.

Am I missing something simple? Read the manual and can't set the time or date on KDC MP628.


Step 1:

Hi there,

In standby mode:


Enter Menu mode:
Press the [MENU] button for at least 1 second.
"Menu" is displayed.

Step 2:


Select Clock Adjustment mode:
Push the Control knob to [FM] or [AM].
Select the "Clock Adjust" display.

Step 3:


Enter Clock Adjust mode:
Press the Control knob for at least 1 second.
The clock display blinks

Step 4:


Adjust the hours:
Push the Control knob to [FM] or [AM].


Adjust the minutes:
Push the Control knob to [Back Search] or [Forward Search].

Step 5:


Exit Clock adjustment mode
Press the [MENU] button.

Step 6:


Date Adjustment...

Select Date Adjust mode
Push the knob to [FM] or [AM].
Select the "Date Adjust" display

Step 7:


Enter Date Adjust mode
Press the Control knob for at least 1 second.
The date display blinks.

Clear all the memory


1) User data mode selection
Press the Data Registration button.

Service mode selection
Press the # button.

Menu item selection
Select the menu item by pressing the or up down button.

Change Language set to American. It is under symbol sets. Also change code page to usa.

Menu Mode

2. Power ON the printer.

3. Press SELECT and place the printer OFF-LINE (SELECT will not be lit).

4. Press QUIET to enter Menu Mode.

5. The line shown below will print.

Printer Control Emulation Mode Epson LQ 6. Go to Step A to print the current menu.

Go to Step B to change the menu.

Step A

Press PRINT to print the current Menu.

Press EXIT to exit Menu Mode.

The printer will go ON-LINE. (SELECT will light.)

Step B

Press GROUP to move through the groups of the Menu.

A line prints, showing the Group.

Press ITEM to move through the items in a group.

A line prints, showing the Item.

Press SET to change the setting for an item.

A line prints, showing the Setting.

Press EXIT to exit Menu Mode.

The printer will go ON-LINE. (SELECT will light.)
