You have two options of resolving this problem. You can either go to Device Manager, Click on Display Adapters. Right click on the listed device and click on Update Driver Software. You should be connected to the internet when you do this to be able to get the latest driver available for your device.
Second is, you can go to your Motherboard Manufacturer's website and look for your motherboard model. Try to find the driver intended for Windows 7. Download and Install it. That should fixya your issue.

Hello if it is this mainboard:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/VIA/M266A/?cat=Download

It`s to old to run windows 7 with the onboard graphic.
And the driver does not supports windows 7.

You can add a new graphic card in the agp 4X
socket on the mainboard.

Just make sure the graphic card driver supports windows 7.

Good luck

A very common problem, sadly there is no solution expect the maker of the card to issue a driver for the older card to operate on the newer 7/10 system. Bottom line they want you to buy the new card

I have win 7 ultimate N with Intel D915 GEV, It's graphics driver not supporting with 7N, can you please help regarding this issue

Hi

Bad news, I'm afarid.

Please check here for confirmation:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=Intel%c2%ae+915+Express+Chipset+Family+Boards&ProductProduct=Intel%c2%ae+Desktop+Board+D915GEV

Your motherboard is an old discontinued Pentium P4 motherboard for which there are no proper Windows 7 drivers.

Windows 7 contains a large driver database, which means that many of motherboard devices can find drivers that work with them, but not the graphics drivers.

If the graphics driver is missing in Windows 7, there is nothing you can do except either continue with the basic .inf graphics you are using now, change your operating system or change your motherboard. These are probably the only 3 options.

There is no other source for Intel motherboard Drivers except Intel. If Intel do not offer them, nobody else can.

I hope this helps

I have recently upgraded my operating system on my computer from XP to windows 7. since then my ATI X1650 PRO graphics card has been stopped by windows with the following message: "Windows has stopped...

go to device manager and click on display adapter then right click on ATI X1650 then run an update. It might be because the driver on your computer is not update with the driver that is not compatible with windows 7. Hope this would help. Thanks.

There has been alot if issues with compatabilty of software and Windows 7. Depending on how old your system is and what you upgraded from. Alot of graphic and sound crads are having issues but, again, gepending on what you have, Windows has provided some generic drivers that will work with older systems. To be of service, I would need to know what system you have, make and model, and what you are trying to update. If you have graphics and/or sound cards, you may be better off upgrading to a card that is supported by Windows 7. Please provlde more info and I will try to help. You can reply at "add a comment".

How can I change the resolution from 1280 x 800? This is the highest possible according to the display setttings. I have removed the generic pNp monitor. I am running Vista Business. The display adapter is...

Graphics Unable to use the native resolution, such as 1920x1080, 1680x1050 and 1440x900 circuit388.gif Symptom(s):
On some displays, users may be unable to use the native resolution when using Intel® chipset graphics. Resolutions such as 1920x1080, 1680x1050, and 1440x900 are not available in graphics properties.

Cause:
The display's EDID is not read properly when connected to some digital flat panel displays. Display devices describe its capabilities by sending EDID (Extended Display Information Data) to the computer.

Solution:
Intel has released a graphics driver to specifically address this issue; however, there may be side effects to this solution such as longer than normal resume times from standby. This solution will only work with external displays such as DFP displays connected to the computer's VGA port. This driver is not designed to address issues with a notebook's built-in display (Local Flat Panel) or with TV’s connected to the system. This driver is provided as is. Intel has not tested, and does not guarantee, the operation of the driver for this purpose.

What graphics adapter upgrade do I need to make

Hi.

The graphic adapter is the video card installed inside the laptop, and normally does not get replaced, as this is integrated with the motherboard.

After installing Windows 7 you will need to install all drivers.

I would recommend using Vista on this laptop, since factory drivers for Windows 7 had not been released. You will have to install general drivers not designed for this laptop.

If you want to install Windows 7 here you get the instructions.

I quote the part concerning video adapter drivers:

"Update the Video Driver
  1. Preparation
    1. Be sure there are no other video drivers installed (you will want to start out with just the standard VGA driver)
    2. Download the latest 82852/82855 drivers from Intel's website
    3. Extract the drivers somewhere, but do not install anything
  2. Turn Off the Digital Driver Signing Check
    1. Create a shortcut on the desktop to cmd.exe
    2. Right-click on the shortcut and select "Run as administrator"
    3. When the command window opens, execute the following commands:
      1. bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON
      2. bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
    4. Reboot
  3. Install the Video Driver
    1. Open the Device Manager
    2. On the menu, go to Action > Add Legacy Hardware
    3. Acknowledge the initial dialog screen
    4. Select "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)"
    5. Click Next
    6. Select "Display Adapters" and click Next
    7. Click the "Have Disk..." button
    8. Navigate to the path where you extracted the Intel drivers. The *.inf file will be in the Win2000 folder
    9. IMPORTANT: Do not select the 82852/82855 GM/GME drivers, select the 945GM driver (yes, this is counter-intuitive)
    10. If prompted to reboot, DO NOT REBOOT
    11. If told the 945 device might not work right, acknowlege the error, then run Action > Scan for Hardware Changes
    12. "Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controllers" and a "Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family" devices should now be listed under "Display Adapers
    13. Disable the 945GM device
    14. Reboot
  4. Verify the Video Driver Installation
    1. Upon rebooting, Windows 7 may roll back one or more of your display devices to Standard VGA
    2. Open Device Manager
    3. Check the Display Adapters
    4. If there is only one 82852/82855 GM/GME device, or if there is a new "unknown" device, precisely repeat the above driver installation section (include the instructions for disabling the 945GM device); in the case of an unknown device, run the "Update Driver" action for that device instead of running the generic "Add Legacy Hardware"
    5. When everything is working, you should have "Graphics Properties" and "Graphics Options" menu items in the pop-up menu when you right-click on the desktop
    6. The "Graphics Option" item should have sub-items for display rotation
    7. Reboot and verify that Windows 7 no longer rolls back your display drivers after rebooting
  5. Protect the Video Driver Installation
    1. Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Update
    2. Windows will likely tell you that an important update is available
    3. Click the "important update is available" link (do NOT click "Install updates")
    4. Right-click on the "Intel Corporation - Display - Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family" update
    5. Click "Hide update" from the context menu
    6. If the display driver gets updated to what is currently on Windows Update, the system will revert back to the Standard VGA driver.
  6. NOTE: When using a driver install hack different from the method described here, I have read reports that a system might Blue Screen when using Windows Media Player to play DVD's; however, alternate media players, such as VLC, reportedly do not exhibit this issue. I do not know if this method will have this same problem, but I thought I would mention this workaround in case someone does experience this issue."
You find driver software at Intel Download Center

DrectCD driver won't start in Vista, but I can't delete it.

Did you use it's OWN uninstall. If not try re-loading it, go to start - programs - Roxio, find it's own uninstall and remove it from there. Hope this works. Ian
