Question about HP Photosmart Premium C309A All-In-One Printer

My hp photosmart premium c309a is saying that it is offline/switched off even though the printer says it is connected to the wireless network and test report says all is well.

Maybe you installed new anti-virus software? Or have you recently changed your router?

My c309 printer and fax photosmart premium is always offline and i cant print anything. how do i change it to online. I run win 7


If I am correct you are using it on wireless/network. If yes, you can try following steps.

On printer press Setup(wrench) button >>>> select Network >>>> select Wireless Setup Wizard >>>> This should show your network on printer >>>> Select your network and enter network password or wep key >>>> Printer should say "connected to network"

It will automatically go to online on computer now.

My HP Photosmart C309a series will not print anymore. It says I am offline however when I go into the control panel and right click on the printer, it is online. Any sugestion?

    Check the cables to and from the printer to the computer and make sure that all of the connections are secure. A disconnected cable is often the cause of rendering the printer offline.

  2. 2 Turn the printer off and back on. Sometimes it could be just a glitch in the network. Reset the printer by turning it off and then wait 60 seconds and turn it back on again.
  3. 3 Check the toner or ink cartridge. Most HP printers have the capacity for both color and black ink or toner cartridges. They will normally run on just one of the two; however, when the one installed becomes too low or is installed incorrectly, it will go offline.
  4. 4 Check for torn paper, paper clips, sticky label residue and other items that could be the cause of printer jams. Any of these will stop a printer in its tracks.
  5. 5 Set the printer as your default printer and see if this resets it to online status. From the Start menu, select "Control Panel". Select "Printers and other Hardware". Under "Pick a Task", select "View Installed Printers or Fax Printers". Select the questionable printer that is offline. Select "Printer" from the pull-down menu. Click on "Set Printer as Default".

My c309a HP photosmart premium says (ink system failure) 0xc19a0036 i have already done every that unit has asked me to do and even the on line help line. But still it's not printing. help


Have you reset the Machine? If not, follow the instructions;
Remove the cartridges, disconnect the usb, switch off, unplug the power chord, leave it off for few minutes. Again switch it On without the cartridges installed and without usb cable connected to it, press the power button several times while it boots up, and leave it on for few minutes, again shut it down using the power button and install the cartridges, connect the usb cable and restart your printer. This will fix your problem if there isn't internal/system failure/faulty.

The HP printer is connected but the icon shows "offline"


Go to control panel, then select printers. Then, from the list of printers (if you have more than one), right click on your printer and make sure "Use printer Online" is checked.

Print Envelopes with hp c309a "Paper Mismatch" error


Even though the icon on the printer shows the envelopes entering the printer narrow side first, you have to set the printer up for, and feed the envelopes through, wide side first.

My new HP C309a will not connect to wireless network. It recognizes the network, there is no encryption, but the diagnostics summary says no filtering-fail.
