Check continuity of the 4 small wires that connect to the control panel to the control board. They seem to break where they flex for the door to open and close.

If the unit will turn on and fill but won't advance to the next setting/step then either the unit's timer is faulty or it is not communicating correctly with the control board.

If you hear the motor running when it is to be draining you may have a busted pump impeller. Also locate and check the round looking cap it will move up and down by your hand pull it up if it is stuck at the bottom this is your float level it goes up and down with the water level the pump will not switch over if it is stuck on the bottom if it is stuck it is telling the dishwasher it is empty of water. and last but not least your wash timer may be out.

I have no real experience with float switches on dishwashers, but have with some in humidifiers. It's a piece of styrofoam on a narrow metal stick that lifts when the appliance fills with water & lowers when the water empties. If this gets stuck on something, like a dishwasher rack, the unit won't fill or empty the water & the cycles won't work properly. Take a look & see if there is such a thing hung up somewhere in the dishwasher. If you can loosen it, your dishwasher should work again.

If the machine does not drain you usually have drain blockage. Clean the drain well at the bottom of the tub. remove and clean filter and assembly parts. Make sure that the drain hose at the back of the dishwasher is not kinked.

Several Miele dishwasher uses a pressure switch to determine the water level. A defective pressure switch may prevent the machine from starting.
If this model uses a pressure switch, the switch will be located in the drain line. When a pressure switch is defective the machine should return an error code. Here a picture of the pressure switch:



If that does not fix the problem the pump located under the bottom panel must be tested.

Have you checked the food collector vent? With mine I had similar problem,when i removed the debris from the vent,and then ran the empty dishwasher for a full cycle it cleared up the not draining problem.

Try emptying the dishwasher and putting a few tablespoons of vegatable oil in the bottom. Run the cycle without soap and no dishs. Often dish soap (palmolive) builds up and creates soap suds that won't go away during a normal cycle. The oil binds with the soap residue to get rid of it. It worked for my Kenmore. I know do it every few months. Good Luck!!!

Hi, The first thing I would do is undo the drain hose from the spiggot under your sink and try and see if there is food scraps or some other kind of blockage in there. If this isn't the problem, the drain pump itself could be blocked?
