Question about Neff 24 in. S5443X2 Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

Hi, we have a Neff dishwasher and noticed a couple of days ago that it took hours longer than usual for the dishwasher to complete its cycle. Last night after the machine had been on for about 4 hours we checked and although there was some water at the bottom of the machine it had not started to wash the dishes although we had heard noises coming from the machine. On opening the integrated door notice that the "check water supply" indicator was lit up. Do you have any suggestions as to what we should do? We have had a look in the manual but it does not give much info do you have any practical advice please.

SOURCE: neff integrated dishwasher

there are some screws inside the door, around the edge. These would be the first to undo then I think the door would have o be pulled up slightly to relaease.

SOURCE: adjusting the door on a neff dishwasher

I have the same problem with my newly installed Miele integrated dishwasher. The door does not stay open when you are trying to load dishes. I heard that there is an adjustable internal mechanism to adjust the tension on the door. But, I am still working on solving my problem.

Takes dishwasher hours to complete cycle

How long did it usually take to finish? Do you know which part of the cycle is taking a long time? Like when it starts when you hear it running. How long have you owned the unit? Once I have more information I can assist you further.
Thanks,
Lee

Dishwasher door will not close properly

usually d/w doors are fine for long time.
1. check if anything blocks it to close securely e.g. the cutlery basket or the dish racks not fully sliding in or may be off track/chanel.
2. try running a cycle empty and see if it closes after doing #1.

Look for the connection from the valve to the inlet of diswasher. Check the hot water valve to be on. It is probably closed when anyone working on the plumping. Good luck.

Hi,

The offending parts are on the left hand side of the machine (viewed from the front). You need to remove a screw (or two?) at the back top edge of the side panel which will then lift upwards and come off.

Before I did my fixit I phoned Neff service (actually BSH appliance care) who quoted me £60.50 for the first half hour then £45/hour plus parts or £159 for 12 months parts and labour. A bit of a no brainer! Anyway, I provisionally booked a service call but said I would call back to confirm.

2 days later I still had the machine pulled out and the panel off because I was testing it. Phone rings - service engineer to say he's on his way. Thought he may as well look at it anyway. He said I'd done exactly what he would have done except he'd have used new part instead of cleaning out the original. He even cancelled the call off his system so no call out charge!! He also told me that 1 minute on the timer display is actually an error code not the actual time left.

Be warned - after the fix I ran the machine on a rinse cycle - completed ok. Put it on an auto wash cycle and it stuck with 1 minute to go! Much swearing and cursing!!
However all subsequent washes have been fine and it has now been working properly for several weeks.

I took some photos whilst I was doing the repair - I can email them to you if you want.

Hope the above makes sense - good luck.

What is the temp of the water coming in to the unit. If it is not hot enough some machines heat the water up to a prescribed temp before washing, rinsing etc..... Could be a problem with the sensor too...let me know,

Have you tried it on a different program? I have nearly always used the AUTO program - however i have used the 50 degree program 3 times now and it completes the (much longer) wash without sticking on one minute. Will try it on auto again to see what happens. I found it useful to turn the end-of-wash buzzer on (to loud) to remind me when (if) it completes the program.
