Question about Televison & Video
Please check the audio properties or the settings as this mode must be reset.
You have not specified the audio outputs that is connected , if this is a TV then the audio mode on the TV needs a check . Try the output from the DVD to an amplifier to confirm.
Not sure which output you use, is this the HDMI, the coaxial , the optical or the composite.
