SOURCE: I recently removed and cleaned

Well it depends. I don't have a schematic for the 2000 Ultra but usually Harley doesn't any small wires connected to the battery. Years ago they did having a single large gauge wire for the general wiring in the bike. But, in recent years, they have moved that wire to the same connection as the positive battery cable connects to the starter. Now, the small wires may be for aftermarket "add ons" that someone has put on the bike like a battery charging pig tail, a security system, or something else. I have no way of knowing. My suggestion would be to get a schematic or try to trace the wires and see where they go. If they are for something like an aftermarket ignition system, which normally connects up at the ignition coil for it's power source, reversing the polarity of the unit could result in damage to the unit.

Good Luck

Why does my fule gauge nto work it move around and gives wrong readings?

Sender in the tank is either broken or the potentiometer wire on it is broken. Access through the top of the tank, remove the obvious access panel , the two connectors ( note which one goes on which terminal) and carefully remove the sender. Replace.

2007 Chevy silverado (classic). Once hooked up to trailer, the brake lights do not work only turn signals on trailer.

firat of all check and make sure you have a real good ground or otherwise you will lose current to another wire and this can short out and cause the lights to malfunction.

White: Ground
Brown: Running
Yellow: LT and Stop
Green: RT and Stop

This is the wiring code for the 4 wire trailers and
Wire a round seven-pin hitch, typically sold without a wiring harness, to the vehicle observing the following color codes: Run a white 10-gauge wire between ground and terminal one, run the blue 12-gauge wire between the electric brake controller and terminal two, the brown 14-gauge wire between the taillights and terminal three, the black 10-gauge wire between the permanently live 12-volt supply and terminal four, the yellow 14-gauge wire between the left turn/brake light and terminal five, the green 14-gauge wire between the right turn/brake light and terminal six and the purple 14-gauge wire between the backup light and terminal seven (in the center).

Fridge is plugged in but not working totally dead

It sounds as if the control system is malfuntioning. If your unit is a non-digital control, you most likely have the SSAC control which has three parts: Control Board, Thermsitor and Potentiometer. The part that fails the most often is the thermsitor. You will need to get to the back of the unit. With it unplugged, take the bottom back cover off to gain access to the control usually located on the left (looking from the rear). It is a 2-inch square black box with 7 terminals and 4 DIP switches. To bypass the control and test your compressor...run a jumper wire from terminals 2 and three (or disconnect those black and red wires from those terminals and connect them together). Plu the unit in...if the compressor runs and the unit cools, you have one or more failed components in the controls. Un-plug the unit and return the wires to normal. You can test the thermsitor and potentiometer with a multi-meter. Disconnect the termistor from terminals 4 and 5 and check it's resistance. If the interior of the fridge is near room temperature, it should read 2.0 to 2.3 k-ohms. If it has a very high reading (greater than 10k-ohms) it will not allow the compressor to start. Reconnect the thermsitor and disconnect the potentiometer from terminals 6 and 7. The the control dialed to max cold (about 7) you should get 90k to 96k-ohms. If it is less than 25 ohms, the refrigerator will not start. If both of those components check out, then the control board itself is bad. All three components can be ordered from the factory by calling 800-223-3900. They sell them seperately or as a kit with all three components. I hope this helps.

How to hook up a ge dryer change from a THREE PRONG TO FOUR PRONG HOOK UP

Replace the old Three prong cord with a 4 prong.

White wire from 4 prong cord goes to the center terminal of the connector block. If there is a metallic strip on that terminal that goes to ground remove it from the terminal and bend it away from the terminal and down so it either touches the case or ends in thin air. Be sure it can't touch either of the outside terminals of the 3 terminal block.

Red and Black wires of cord go to outside terminals of the three terminal block. It makes no difference which one goes on which terminal but I usually attach them so the color of the cord wire matches the colors of the wires already on that terminal.

The last terminal is green and should be attached tightly to any screw of the case or any metal bracket attached to the case that it is long enough to reach as this is the ground. This lead protects you from electrocution if the dryer has an internal problem and should be tight to the case.

How to replace a potentiometer on a Hartke 3500 Bass Amplifier?

unplug unit and leave OFF. Unplugged, turn on for 1 minute to "drain" capacitors, then turn off. Remove cover. TAKE a DIGITAL PHOTO of the rear of the potentiometer. Mark the 3 wires with masking tape and a Sharpie marker. Take another photo. Cut wires as close as possible to the potentiometer. Remove the knob, then remove mounting nut/washer. Now, you need to figure out the value of the potentiometer. Using an ohm meter or multimeter, measure the resistance from one outside terminal to the other outside terminal. It should be a ready like 100K, (100,000) OHMS. It may also be marked on the unit as 10K, or something with a "K" suffix. Replace with a potentiometer of the same value -AND- make sure that it has an "Audio Taper" not a "Linear Taper". Mount the new potentiometer and reconnect the 3 wires in the same fashion as the phono. Strip 1/4 inch of insulation from the wire and wrap around each post of the unit per the photo. You should solder each wire, or worst case, tape securely until you can get someone to solder the wires. Replace cover. Plug in unit and perform "smoke test". If volume doesn't change at all, then center wire is in wrong place and wires are out of order. If volume is in reverse, swap the two outside wires only. You really should get a ham radio buddy or someone to do this work for you, as you could mess it up, but you are welcome to give it a try. You can buy the potentiomer from MCM Electronics, and possibly Radio Shack.

I need to switch my three prong power chord to a four prong

your terminal block on the dryer will have three screws in a row and there will be a green screw on the outer skin next to the terminal block cover - your four-wire cord will have a white wire, red, black and green wires - white wire goes on the center screw of the terminal block, red wire goes on one of the other screws of the terminal block, it doesn't matter which, black wire goes on remaining terminal block screw, green wire goes to the green screw

Intertherm 3 ton ac unit I took the capasitor off to get a new one and forgot how to wire it it is not on the cover three wire fan and compressor three prong 55-5 capasitor help

The 55 terminal is marked "herm" it goes to the start winding of the compressor. The 5 terminal is marked "fan" it goes to a wire from the fan motor. The common terminal goes to one side of the power line...The side that is NOT going directly to the compressor.
